Typically, there are a few factors to consider with regards to anime renewals, including the popularity of the show and whether there is remaining source material to be adapted. In this case, there is plenty of source material left to pull from, as the comic upon which "The God of High School" is based remains ongoing. Meanwhile, the anime itself was popular and continues to find new fans. So, with that in mind, it stands to reason that we'll see a second season of "The God of High School" at some point.

In the case of God of High School, there’s a tight season of 13 episodes that’s coming. This is the perfect amount for the series to start off and they can easily pack those episodes full with story. There’s a better opportunity to incorporate what’s worked and what hasn’t into the show’s future.
The director for The God of High School anime is Seong Ho Park, who's also served as director on GARO -Vanishing Line- and Jujutsu Kaisen. However, he's been an animation director on prominent action series like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Fairy Tail, and InuYasha: The Final Act, which show that he has a strong appreciation and understanding of how to put fight scenes together. This is crucial for something like God of High School, so Seong Ho Park should be able to help the material properly come to life.
The God of High School is set to become one of the biggest anime of the season, but the series has actually been around since 2011, in the form of a webtoon. It's fairly standard for anime to adapt popular manga or manhwa series, but what's particularly encouraging about God of High School is that it has close to ten years of stories to pull from. Sometimes anime can get ahead of their source material and struggle with content, but this is a scenario where God of High School can really plan things out and create an even more nuanced anime.
The God of High School is definitely author Yong-Je Park's most successful work to date, but before God of High School's development his debut in the field was a manhwa called Tough Guy. Tough Guy is still action-based, but it takes a more grounded approach as it looks at bullies and battles. The more realistic nature of this project is what pushed Park to take God of High School to such exaggerated and crazier places. After doing something smaller, he was eager to work on something with a greater scope.
There are definitely plenty of similarities and overlapping territory for action anime series and it's interesting to see how some shows can improve upon ideas that are introduced in other series.
Over the years there have been a number of growing options for anime streamers, but Crunchyroll has become one of the most prominent services. In addition to making it easier for audiences to watch anime, Crunchyroll has recently started to produce their own anime series and put out their own content, turning to popular materials that are ready for adaptation.
It’s pretty unfortunate to put it that way. Therefore we don’t have a suitable replacement from Crunchyroll in the 2nd season.
