what do you think is the best anime op of all time? Anonymous This is obviously a question that’s going to vary from person to person and it’s completely subjective, but I’m giving my vote to Neon Genesis Evangelion’s OP, A Cruel Angel’s Thesis/Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis.

The conclusion. In conclusion, One Piece takes the lead over Naruto overall. Both series have strong and weak points, but their popularity is evidence that fans love them for their specific quirks. Nor is it true that there aren't any in the anime community who doesn't love both series.

Today, Attack on Titan earns this title with its immaculate storytelling. Attack on Titan has gradually earned its position as the best new-generation anime since its debut in 2013. Since reaching this mark, fans have begun placing the series in conversations with the best anime of all time.
The reason Fullmetal Alchemist is the best fantasy anime of all time is that it paints a fully realized, unique world with internally consistent rules that have real consequences. Building on that foundation, it delivers a story about two brothers that's as grounded as the setting is fantastic.
Most anime horror series are referred to as horror because of the monsters, like High School of the Dead. These series tend to be light on what western audiences think of as horror. Still, When They Cry straddles the line.
Without Dragon Ball, the fighting anime genre as we know it today probably wouldn't exist.
Isekai, which means "another world" in Japanese, is a massively popular genre that typically plucks an unassuming person out of their daily life and inserts them into a fantasy or science-fiction setting. Some of the most popular examples include Sword Art Online and Spirited Away .
Anime has a reputation for being kid stuff, because of the connection between animation and kids cartoons in the West. The truth is that most anime isn't for kids, as evidenced by all the TV-14, TV-MA, and R ratings on this list. If you're looking for a great anime kids movie, the best place to start is Studio Ghibli.
Attack on Titan is horrifying, but it isn't really a horror anime. If you can stomach the grotesque, inside-out appearance of the titular titans, and the brutal finality of the way they devour their victims, you'll find an action anime that's also heavy on plot, character development, and atmosphere.
It's a great movie, full stop. There are a ton of great anime movies, and more come out every year. Akira still stands as a high watermark. It's a beautiful film to watch, with tremendous attention to detail, a cool story, and fantastic, action-packed animation sequences.
In the English version, Shinichi Kudo, or Jimmy Kudo, is a high school detective who gets converted into a child while investigating a secret organization and solves multiple cases while impersonating his childhood best friend’s father and a few other people characters.
EX-ARM follows Akira Natsume, a high school student who fears electronic devices yet is skilled at repairing them.
Although it only lasted two seasons, Mob Psycho 100 remains one of the best anime series of the decade, with even its “worst” episodes being fantastic.
Tokyo Ghoul was designed for folks who enjoy dark fantasy. Consequently, if you enjoy all things terrifying and don’t mind a little blood and gore, this is the show for you.
It’s a Shonen Manga, to be precise. Never theless, it is no secret that Shonen anime programs have a more extensive fan base due to the action and intense sequences they contain.
The romantic comedy manga series centers around Ryuji Takasu, who is friendly and unselfish, and Taiga Aisaka, fierce and short-tempered.
Overlord is not your typical isekai Anime because the protagonist turns out to be a villain! However, I doubt you’ll be able to stay sane if you’re confined to a video game for the rest of your life.
Sure, there are many anime characters who are wildly famous and provide the engine for a commercial machine, but sales and marketing don't make a character great. Skillful writing, design, and ingenuity make a character great.
Afro. First anime appearance: Afro Samurai, 2007. The only anime character voiced by one Bad Ass Mother******, Samuel L. Jackson. Afro Samurai (See it on Amazon) was a fresh, modern take on the samurai genre and it featured a man who's probably the first black male title character in an anime.
Kakashi. First anime appearance: Naruto, 2002. It's tough to outshine a lead character in his own series, but Kakashi pulled it off and often outranked Naruto in popularity polls (See Naruto on Amazon). He's a complex character, with an iconic character design and a laid back attitude that just exudes cool.
Haruhi Fujioka. First anime appearance: Ouran High School Host Club, 2006. The reverse harem anime genre had been done to death by 2006. We knew the tropes, we knew what to expect. But then Ouran High School Host Club (See it on Amazon) introduced us to Haruhi, and new doors were opened.
Some argue whether the series even counts as "real" anime because its development and release involved so many American parties. But the series was adapted from a Japanese manga, directed by a Japanese anime director, and produced by well-known Japanese anime studio GONZO. So it's definitely anime, and one of the more interesting ones of recent times. Afro himself is the strong silent type, preferring to let his sword do the talking. But when he does speak, the words that flow are spoken with single-minded focus. He's only got two things on his mind; vengeance, and the Number One Headband: the sacred headband said to bestow great powers upon its owner.
Major Motoko Kusanagi is the driving force behind the Ghost in the Shell (See it on Amazon) franchise. The story often descends into long dialogue full of political drama, but Motoko keeps things interesting. She's not just a participant in all the political intrigue, she's a master of it, proving that she's more than a pretty face behind a gun. She's also a very capable detective, often going solo to root out the truth behind the cases she's working. And she does it all while surrounded by a heavily male-centric supporting cast. Motoko was a stunning example of a strong female character that didn't need to have her feminism make a statement. She simply was who she was, and everyone respected that without question.
Haruhi isn't one of those typical anime school girls. She's super tomboyish, demure, and not at all moe. In a series that often satirizes the usual shojo genre stereotypes, Haruhi wins by just being completely free of typical teen drama. That's not to say that Haruhi hasn't seen her fair share of difficulty in life.
