Hyouka is by far one of the most beautiful animes I've ever seen. The characters design is designed so well and fit with their personality almost perfectly. The backgrounds were created with such detail that it felt like I was watching an anime movie instead of a tv show.
In the Hyouka OVA, the audience is given insight into what happens between episodes 11 and 12 of the parent anime. Although there is nothing ground breaking to be found in this OVA, if you enjoyed any aspect of Hyouka, The OVA fits in perfectly with the rest of the series.

Hyouka wasn't a love story, and Oreki's fleeting thoughts at the end of the show are just those—fleeting thoughts. The ending scene was a hint, a teaser that makes us want to see them together, but leaves the aftermath to our imagination.
Hyouka (氷菓, literally, "ice cream") is a 22-episode anime produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto originally aired from April 22, 2012 to September 16, 2012.
Although the anime includes various romantic elements, Hyouka is not a romance anime. To be fair, there are a few “Will They or Won't They” moments throughout the show, but not enough to make it an overall romantic one. In truth, Hyouka is a cross between a slice of life and a mystery anime.
There is currently only one season of Hyouka, so there is only one way to watch them, and this is in chronological order. The TV series aired in 2012 and the OVA Hyouka: Motsubeki Mono Wa was released in the same year.

They don’t focus on something other than being cute, and as a result that is the only thing the audience remembers. There is not much of a plot, hardly any gripping mysteries , and the characterization is fairly basic. The moment the next moe show comes your way, it won’t be hard to get over Hyouka.
which pairs up somewhat poorly with KyoAni's signature over-the-top style.Hyouka is a mystery series, revolving around four high school students in the Classic Literature Club (an aimless club that happens to end up solving mysteries a lot).
As a result, Hyouka is, in a word... dull. With the exceptions of one or two mysteries, Hyouka totally fails to be entertaining. But that isn't to say they didn't go the extra mile to make Hyouka more interesting. KyoAni's huge animation budget is flexed quite a bit.
High school freshman Houtarou Oreki has but one goal: to lead a gray life while conserving as much energy as he can. Unfortunately, his peaceful days come to an end when his older sister, Tomoe, forces him to save the memberless Classics Club from disbandment.
