The story is set in a world where devils are born from human fears. While they are usually dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with devils to use a portion of their power. Denji is a young, depressed man, who is attempting to pay back his deceased father's debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a devil hunter. Denji also owns a doglike devil named Pochita, which resembles a chainsaw and assists Denji in his work. Denji is tasked by the Yakuza to kill a devil, but discovers a plot by the yakuza to let the devil kill him in return for its aid. Denji is slain and Pochita severely injured, but the two had previously made a deal that allows Pochita to merge with Denji, reviving him as a human-devil hybrid with Pochita's chainsaw ability. Denji kills the devil that killed him and is then approached by a team of governmental devil hunters. As he has now partly become a devil, one of the teams' members, Makima, persuades Denji to become a part of their organization to avoid being hunted by them.
After this, he can transform into the devil-human hybrid known as Chainsaw Man by pulling the cord on his chest. After meeting Makima, he becomes a Public Safety Devil Hunter, to live in humane conditions. His primary motivation is his attraction to Makima.

Fujimoto also said that, despite its success in the magazine, he wanted to write the second part of the series on Shōnen Jump+ because he wanted to do a completely different series from the first part. According to him, there is no much of a difference in working between Weekly Shōnen Jump and Shōnen Jump+, explaining that there were a few depictions that got stopped during the rough draft stage, but he was allowed to do anything he wanted regarding the logic of the story.
Chainsaw Man ’s adaptation was first announced last December and it’s gotten an usually long lead up, which could be due to MAPPA’s busy schedule. Takt Op. Destiny, a new series that will be a co-production between MAPPA and Madhouse, came out on Oct. 5, while Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the prequel movie, premiered in Japan at the end of December.
It’s currently unknown which western outlet will get the streaming rights to Chainsaw Man. Previous shows from MAPPA, like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Final Season Part 1 streamed on Crunchyroll. However, a recent rumor suggested that Netflix could be the eventual home of Chainsaw Man.
Genre. Chainsaw Man (チェンソーマン, Chensōman) is an upcoming TV anime adaptation of the Chainsaw Man manga by Fujimoto Tatsuki .
Plot. When his father died, Denji was stuck with a huge debt and no way to pay it back. Thanks to a Devil dog he saved named Pochita, he's able to survive through odd jobs and killing Devils for the Yakuza. Pochita's chainsaw powers come in handy against these powerful demons.
Now Denji has been reborn as some kind of weird Devil-Human hybrid. He is now a Chainsaw Man!
Struggling to pay back his father's debt, Denji is forced to work for the Yakuza as a Demon Hunter. With his demon pet Pochita, Denji serves the gang to the best of his abilities until they decide that he has outlived his usefulness and murdered him.
Admittedly, the initial premise of CSM does sound wacky. But while the manga isn't a masterpiece, it's surprisingly good. The characters are well written, with their own motives and stories, and they don't fall into the cliche archetypes of a shounen series. The plot is quick and engaging, and there's not a single chapter wasted on fillers.
Given the nature of the anime, be prepared for a lot of gore and uncensored mutilation. The action sequences in the manga are phenomenal, so expect some heart-stopping fight scenes in the anime as well. And though the artwork looks bright and colorful, keep in mind that the show will be dealing with darker, more mature themes.
MAPPA has its best staff working on this project. Ryuu Nakayama and Keisuke Seshita, who previously directed and animated Jujutsu Kaisen, are also working on CSM. Tatsuya Yoshihara, the action director of Black Clover, and other famous names behind Vinland Saga and Dorohedoro are working together to bring this anime to life.
There's no official confirmation from MAPPA yet. Still, based on previous release patterns, Chainsaw Man can be expected to release with the 2021 Fall/Winter season lineup, with a set of 24-26 episodes.
There's no official news on where Chainsaw Man will make its western debut, but based on Jjk's release, it's not hard to speculate that MAPPA will release the anime on both Crunchyroll and Netflix almost immediately.
The news about the upcoming anime first came to light in December 2020 as the announcement was made through the second 2021 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It was revealed that MAPPA, famous for bringing projects like Z ombie Land Saga, Dorohedoro, Jujutsu Kaisen, and the final season of Attack on Titan , will helm Chainsaw Man.
While MAPPA is keeping the voice cast under wraps as of now, with the trailer made up of ominous music and creepy chainsaw sounds. However, a team of amazing anime veterans behind the camera has been confirmed to be working on the CSM production. Here is the list.
The story revolves around Denji, a young guy who is facing a financial crunch. His father owed a lot of debt to the Yakuza, an organised crime syndicate but passed away before he could repay it. The devils in Denji's world exist both in the mortal and the hellish world.
This all said, Chainsaw Man isn't just a gross-out or shock manga. It's also about growing up, overcoming fear, and admitting vulnerability. The puke kiss scene contributes to these themes, showing how Denji's idealized ideas of romance clash with those of the jaded women surrounding him.
Part of Denji's character is his struggle to understand women and his attraction to them. He obsesses over sexual "firsts" such as kissing or touching a breast.
Based on the recently-released trailer, it seems that the Chainsaw Man anime will be largely faithful to the source material. Shonen manga adaptations sometimes add or remove certain elements of the story, like the filler arcs in One Piece or Naruto, but given this trailer it's very likely that the infamous vomit-kiss scene will be depicted in all ...

Despite the series' violence and dark humor, Fujimoto always wanted to serialize in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but he had the feeling that his work would be "buried" if he had made a "Jump-like manga", so he tried to retain much of his individuality as a creator while making only the structure and characters Jump-like. Fujimoto also said that, despite its success in the magazine, he wanted to write the second part of the series on Shōnen Jump+, because he wanted to do a completely diff…
