I swear, out of a lot of the shows I had watched thus far this year, this show is without any doubt the most disturbing thing I had ever watched. Watch Happy Sugar Life | Prime Video.
A show that is hard to watch and isn't at the same time. It's about sexual abuse (rape), child abuse, pedophilia, with a side of cold blooded murder. It's deeply disturbing as it should be due to the content. Watch at your own discretion.
Happy Sugar Life is a deceptive masterpiece when it comes to tone and style. It's done as a clever reflection of the frayed mental state of its lead character, Satou. Satou's obsession with a young girl named Shio and her purity triggers a series of crimes and murders that become more disturbing with each episode.

Happy Sugar Life will have you questioning the morality of characters and leaves you at a loss when trying to determine whose motives were more just. Future Diaries is a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you anxious to ever really support any character for more than one or two episodes . kurokam1 says...
Takao Kasuga is a lonely boy who spends his days immersed in books to escape his frustration with life. His only source of joy is the beautiful Saeki, who he secretly admires from afar. However, Takao's obsession goes too far one day when, in a moment of emotional folly, he steals the girl's gym clothes and takes them home with him. Worse, his terrible deed is spotted by Sawa Nakamura, a mysterious outcast who sits behind him in class who threatens to reveal the boy's secret unless he promises to engage in a contract with her. At first it seems Sawa just wants some companionship, but soon it becomes clear that this "contract" involves more than mere afternoon chats. In fact, Takao is about to discover just how dangerous his bond with Sawa is and how it threatens to tear everything - his life, his love, and even his sanity - apart.
Hanabi and Mugi are bathed in envious gazes from all around as a beautiful couple with excellent moral conduct. But these two apparently perfect people in an apparently perfect relationship share a secret they can't tell anyone.
Future Diary. Yuki is a disaffected middle school boy who has no dreams or goals in life; in fact, the only thing he has is his diary. Writing down everything he observes and documenting every thought, the young boy uses it as an outlet for his imagination.
Future Diary has more action in it, but still recommend if you liked Happy Sugar Life. pppowerrangers says... Both of the animes involve someone who will go to extreme lengths to protect their love... both main characters also have an insane side, if you enjoy the horror psychological genres then you'll like both.
And both Satou and Nana are also killers, and have a sad past.
