Why It’s Similar To SAO
Despite the fact that the major tropes of a harem are not present in the series, and that most of the romantic action is between Kirito and Asuna alone, people see every female character introduced as “ another member of Kirito's Harem”.
Although the positive effects of relationships are focused on for many of the series' interactions, that doesn't mean it shies away from twisted ones. From the start, Sword Art Online is practically all about the relationships laced throughout, be them romantic, familial or simply that of unbreakable friendship.
Sword Art Online—An Action-Fantasy Anime.
Although it is not classified as a harem anime, the premise does heavily revolve around Kirito and his harem. Even if all of the women are not present, there is seemingly always at least one female other than Asuna with romantic affection for Kirito with him incessantly.

AsunaAsuna (real name Asuna Yuuki) is the main female protagonist of the anime and light novel series, Sword Art Online. Aside from being the second in command of the Knights of the Blood Oath, the strongest guild in Aincrad, she is also the adoptive mother of Yui and the love interest of Kirito.

Includes violent scenes, including some of a sexual nature. One of the things that first strikes you when you come across the latest collection of SAO is the rating: 18.
Unfortunately, SAO became caught up in a brutal and systematic misogyny that, I argue, stops viewers from enjoying the show. See, most anime series already give the entire category an awful reputation by including sexualized gags about breasts or having a woman unnecessarily strip down to her bare necessities.
SAO is a haram anime, and this video proves it.
My Dress-Up Darling is already laying the groundwork for a harem, but that's not what the show needs. My Dress-Up Darling is a popular new rom-com anime series of the Winter 2022 anime season, and so far, the show has a lot going for it.
Some fans said SAO is a harem anime (and somebody a side story of SAO wrote by author is a harem ending? )
I know it's confusing, but there are 2 genres that people colloquially call harem. We have since called the correct term "true harems", and the other merely "harem".
