The villains are mostly grey with their own justifications. FMA is similar, but does all the things Naruto does better. It has better story, more compelling characters, darker shades of grey for its villains, and most of all a superior and well thought ending.
The alchemy in Fullmetal Alchemist is based on a real alchemy. What comes first FMA or FMAB? FMA started while the manga was still being made so when it caught up to the manga, it made the rest of the story up. FMAB was produced after the manga finished so it was true to the manga all the way to the end.
This post-apocalyptic, military, supernatural anime focuses on three young protagonists who have devoted their lives to fighting the human-eating Titans and avenging the humankind. Of course, there are personal reasons that drive each of them and make them interesting and relatable.

Overall, it's an incredible series. I'd recommend this to anime fans, and fans of fantasy or sci-fi of any kind (unless you just can't stand Japanese cartoons). FullMetal Alchemist is definitely one of the best television series out there.
– While both the FMA series boast some high-quality art with great choice of colors and vivid backgrounds, the Brotherhood features considerably advanced and better animation than the original. Brotherhood is more alive with details in everything and backgrounds are more dynamic and elaborate.

In a survey from Oricon in 2009, Fullmetal Alchemist ranked ninth as the manga that fans wanted to be turned into a live-action film. The series is also popular with amateur writers who produce dōjinshi (fan fiction) that borrows characters from the series.
It has one of the best stories in the history of anime, amazing cast of characters, and amazing voice acting. It is also deep and touching at times with parts of the story that are just wow. The animation is also excellent and you can simply tell a lot of care and detail went into every little thing in the anime.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is one of those masterpieces, that you are bound to have an amazing feeling of satisfaction after finishing watching it, and you cannot help but admire the greatness of the plot. No wonder it is considered by the critics to be one of the best (if not the best) anime series of all time.
He is 15-16 years old throughout the whole story. At the end of the manga, he is 18 years old. Edward is truly a remarkable alchemist, especially for his young age. He's just one of the numerous young and gifted protagonists in the shōnen genre.
Just to be clear, there are two Fullmetal Alchemist shows; the first is Fullmetal Alchemist released in 2003, the other is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, released in 2009. The 2003 version portrayed a small portion of its source material, the manga, but then diverges to tell its own story (still worth a watch due to its unique storyline).
Action sequences in the anime were done exceptionally well. A standout is Fuhrer Bradley himself with his incredible speed and viciousness. Only a few episodes into the series, fans were treated with Bradley's exchange with Homunculus Greed.
6 Manga: The Coal Mine Chapter. This is a chapter the original 2003 anime adapted, but Brotherhood took a different route. Chapter three, Volume one, had Protagonist Edward and brother Alphonse journey to a Coal mine town. There they found the miners were working under the corrupt official, Lieutenant Yoki.
The average per page is roughly three to seven images in a manga. But occasionally, if something significant were to happen, for example, a reveal or a huge event, you're treated to those stunning one to two image images of a character/event.
He may have had some redeeming factors and character moments in Brotherhood, but the Yoki we see in the original Fullmetal Alchemist was a guy everyone just loved to hate.
Wrath is a bit of a divisive character. On the one hand, he's an absolute monster of a homunculus who is capable of tearing through an army like it was nothing, only getting wounded when he was blindsided by Buccaneer and Fu, making his actions scenes highly entertaining to watch.
The Gold-Toothed Doctor, the man responsible for the creation of Wrath as King Bradley and one of the many sick individuals behind the nation-wide transmutation circle, was only shown briefly towards the end of Brotherhood, but in that short amount of time, he proved to be unsettling and cruel.
People might remember this character as the man who interrogated Maria Ross in regards to Hugh's murder, trying his best to pin it on the poor woman despite her desperate pleas.
Raven is introduced early on as a superior to Mustang, one who he mistakenly puts his trust in, before the reveal that he is working with Father to attain immortality. What makes it worse is how kindly he acts towards the protagonists, making the revelation of his true nature that much more despicable.
Both iterations of Kimblee are equally as easy to hate, but the original takes the place for this list. In the 2003 series, his namesake of the Crimson Alchemist comes from his signature transmutation of creating violent explosions, usually using people, by manipulating the matter inside them into a gunpowder-like substance.
The epitome of a man who fears death, the King of Xerxes was willing to sacrifice his people to obtain an immortal body. It seems both ironic and unimaginably cruel for a king to be willing to end the lives of his entire country just so he wouldn't die of illness, effectively leaving him with no one to rule over and a city of dead people.
