Seiren (星煉, Seiren), born Hoshino (星乃), is a student of the Night Class at Cross Academy and the unofficial bodyguard/faithful follower of Kaname Kuran.
No, as this is placed at least 9 years ahead of Amagami SS. But as usual, it's better to just watch it first for the extra flavor, as there are characters that have relatives in the original one.
This campus romantic comedy, "Seiren", which means honest in Japanese, depicts his pure relationship with three different heroines. Each story is the unique and mutual memory between him and the heroine.
The Omnibus format gives viewers a chance to explore different paths and different endings. Typically in an Omnibus anime, a male character has a few love interests. Given their own arcs, each girl follows her own love story with the main character, each finding their own happy ending with him.
Siren is out on Netflix in the US from January 1, 2020.

With a lead character and storyline that are so much more than they seem, Siren is worth the deep dive in. Siren is a very modern twist on an old story, and it's also some very entertaining and intriguing television. Mermaid tale is violent, suspenseful, and thrilling drama.
This campus romantic comedy, "Seiren", which means honest in Japanese, depicts his pure relationship with three different heroines. Each story is the unique and mutual memory between him and the heroine.
The male lead in "Seiren" is named Shouichi. (Rhymes with Junnichi, kind of seems like a cop-out already) Unfortunately he doesn't have an interesting and relatable backstory like Junnichi did. In fact, he might as well be a randomly generated sim. He and his buddies like video games... relatable, but not interesting.
Each story is of 4 episodes and usually ends (i.e they show how they will end up in their future). Light-hearted comedy and romance, the main character have three different experiences of his life with different girls. Dont misinterpret this for Harem because the three stories happen in completely different worlds.
The protagonist Junnchi, (in the game he was you, and whatever you chose your name to be) could be considered terribly generic, if you didn't see his backstory right off the bat. Traumatic heartbreak on christmas, develops a distaste for the holiday season, (very relatable) and a fear of putting himself back out there.
TBS revealed plans for a new anime series, with Kisai Takyama working on the project. This original anime television adaption was later officially named Seiren. The series is directed by Tomoki Kobayashi at Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. It aired on TBS in Japan from January 5, 2017 to March 23, 2017. The series was also simulcasted in the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America on Crunchyroll. The series uses an omnibus format, in which each major character arc is a self-contained four-episode story. These major arcs are focused on three characters: Hikari Tsuneki, Toru Miyamae, and Kyōko Tōno. However, it was also noted that there were plans for character arcs involving Miu Hiyama, Makoto Kamizaki, and Ruise Sanjō in the future.
It aired on TBS between January 5, 2017 and March 23, 2017.
In anticipation of the anime premiere, two official webcomics illustrated by Piaisai titled "Amagami Characters Do the Seiren Interview" (アマガミキャラによるセイレンインタビュー, Amagami Kyara Niyoru Seiren Intabyū) and "Seiren Heroines Do the Amagami Challenge!".
Hikari Tsuneki (常木耀, Tsuneki Hikari) Voiced by: Ayane Sakura. The class idol of class 2-B at Kibito High School and the runner-up of last year's "Miss Santa Contest". Described as a "modern day meddling princess", she is always cheerful and loves to eat, and is occasionally stubborn.
Ikuo Nanasaki (七咲郁夫, Nanasaki Ikuo) Voiced by: Ryōta Asari. Shouichi's childhood friend, and the younger brother of Ai Nanasaki from Amagami, who was a bit of a prankster in elementary school. Thanks to his elder sister's influence, he eventually grew a more calm personality and became more studious.
Tatsuya Araki (荒木達也, Araki Tatsuya) Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi. Shōichi's and Ikuo's friend who hangs out with them in the arcade. He is popular with the girls in Kibito High School and has a deep interest for animals.
Voiced by: Atsushi Tamaru. The protagonist of the series. A second year high school student who can't leave people in trouble alone. A bit of a pervert with a tendency to fantasize about naughty things, Shouichi is a lover of games, whether on home consoles, in arcades, or elsewhere.
For high school students like Shouichi Kamita, university entrance exams and the future are common concerns. It is also during this time in life that a mysterious emotion that vexes people of all ages may begin to weigh upon one's mind—love.
