We could go on and on about all kinds of different things like characters, great villains, movies, but, in the end, we believe that it is quite clear that Dragon Ball is absolutely the most popular anime ever made. It shouldn’t even be a discussion at this point, but, we couldn’t just say it right away, we had to prove we’re not biased.

Another reason why Dragon Ball Z is the best anime is that they sure knew how to do proper character development. Vegeta had one of the most perfect character development arcs in history, in fact, his character never stopped developing. The anti-heroes in anime owe their existence to Vegeta, at least a lot of them.
I have to say that Dragonball is by far my Favorite series of all time. Its the show that got me into anime and I cant wait to buy all the seasons remastered when they come out. The Dragonball story is goofy, fun, and all around brilliant! It throws great humor with huge action and you cant beat it.

I have watched several other anime throughout the years and dragon ball is still one of the best anime/manga. It may not be as deep as some other anime, but the overall story is such a joy to experience. It isn't a masterpiece but it is still one of the finest anime/manga to date.

One thing that came from Dragon Ball Z that she series is so well known for is the countless ridiculous transformations that the series introduced. This new form of power scaling was one of the most influential concepts in the world of shonen anime and manga and it has been only gaining more steam as the series continues.
This has birthed three sequels to this series with each being more flawed in the eyes of some fans than the last.
Dragon Ball is more about character growth and mastery of their skill instead of who is reaching what form next. Dragon Ball Z just focuses on this concept a bit too much to symbolize a new limit being reached.
The series featured a lot of fights but they never took away from that mission to travel the world and collect the seven mystical Dragon Balls.
As said earlier, the original Dragon Ball is a series that didn 't incorporate the crazy galaxy level power scaling yet. The series isn't the host of hundreds of transformations either. This is because the original Dragon Ball wasn't all about power levels.
It began to evolve into a martial arts anime but that didn't take away from other aspects of the series. However, when it comes to Dragon Ball Z the fights were first and foremost to many fans which ended up taking the series into a much different direction.
Dragon Ball Z is all about heroes using their awesome martial arts and ki abilities to protect the world from villains. The Z Fighters have their own costumes, just as the villains do (the orange gi and the armor worn by Frieza’s soldiers are basically uniforms).
One-Punch Man is both the spiritual successor and antithesis of Dragon Ball Z. The protagonist of this show, Saitama, is the strongest person on Earth. As such, he is bored out of his bald skull with the lack of worthy opponents he can face.
As a franchise that's been around for decades, there are plenty of episodes, but sadly, unless someone collect all seven Dragon Balls to wish more episodes into existence, there are only so many hours of Dragon Ball Z one can watch before running out of material. The good news is that there are a number of other amazing anime which ...
The hunt for the mythic Dragon Balls is the catalyst that gave Dragon Ball Z its name. When all seven Dragon Balls are gathered together, the magical dragon Shinra is summoned and grants one wish. In the fantasy series Fairy Tail, the characters travel through the realm of Earth-land in search of the dragon Igneel.
Inspired by the Arabian tales of 1001 Nights , this anime stars the young boy Aladdin and the runaway prince Alibaba. As a Magi, Aladdin is able to use magic by calling upon the powers of the Rukhs. Meanwhile, Alibaba returns home to his kingdom and begins to fight for the betterment of his people against his corrupt brother and a horde of predatory bandits.
Set in the Warring States Period of Japan, the show follows the high school girl Kagome Higurashi who traveled back in time, where she encountered the half-demon Inuyasha. Most of the series follows the two traveling across the demon-filled lands of feudal Japan as they hunt shards of a shattered mystic gemstone.
With costumed heroes and villains using superpowers, DBZ is basically just one big superhero drama. By far the most popular superhero anime is My Hero Academia. The villains are perfectly over-the-top, the fight scenes are out of this world, and the hair has plenty of spiky tips. While it is quite distinctly its own thing ...
Each dragon ball is found in a number of random random places around the wor. Continue Reading. Give Dragon Ball (the original series) a try, if you can watch it all and still enjoy it then move on to DBZ. I wouldn’t recommend DBZ without watching Dragon Ball first.
The last big reason I wasn't a fan of Dragon Ball Super is because of what it's done to the fanbase. Before DBS the Dragon Ball fanbase was one of the best anyone could ever be a part of. Everyone would talk about all of the series, films and games and you could meet new people who would end up being good friends.
For context, Dragon Ball is a slightly mature feel good anime about a very strong boy named Goku who was born with a monkey tail. The story focuses on Goku’s journey as a martial artist, he faces many challenges and adversaries and constantly works to improve himself.
Like for example that the only way for one to become stronger is to train to near self destruction. The main character, Goku, is quite charismatic and it's hard not to like him. Theres a set of other caracters that complement the story.
There is no additional power than energy levels and transformations. In my opinion, the fights in dragon ball z are supirior to any show. The characters are supirior, the character development.
The series moves at a higher pace with a more violent approach. We begin to understand that Goku is an alien and the adventure continues only this time, it doesn't remain on earth.
Both Goku and Vegeta often let their opponents gain the upper hand by allowing them to reach their full potential. Goku does it out of excitement for a good fight and Vegeta for pride. So, what would Goku have done ?
October 2017 was the first time we saw UI in anime and I'm wondering if people are happy with how its progressed since then? It still feels really new to me.
Does anyone actually believe that Toriyama and Toyotaro play around with these fan headcanon numbers in modern DBS?
Personally I think that the span of time between gohan first arriving at high school and the death of bappadi is probably the best of z.
Yes another post talking about a Goku/Vegeta fusion, BUT I feel like making this because I’ve been seeing a lot of Z Gogeta slander recently and I kind of want to make a thread talking about how cool he is.
