Others have pointed out that there’s a listing for “Ronin” on the Star Wars Fandom website, describing a male warrior from Melitto culture who “survived the defeat of his myrmitrix, thus becoming a hiveless outcast . The ronin Sarco Plank ended up working as a bounty hunter, jungle guide, and tomb raider on Devaron.”.
Lucasfilm Star Wars: Visions is a new anime series. A new Star Wars anime series is in the works that’s so intriguing, it has already spawned an official original novel even before it released.
2 Cowboy Bebop. One of the most revered anime in history, Cowboy Bebop is one of the most ideal anime that come up when thinking of something that is Star Wars like. The series itself is born from an artifice to recreate Star Wars own sense of lived in realism mixed in with sci fi splendor.
8 Space Dandy. While not exactly an action packed adventure, Space Dandy is one of the most aesthetically and tonally similar series to Star Wars out there.
One doesn't even need to be a Star Wars fan to be enraptured in the epic tale of Code Geass. However, it certainly doesn't hurt one's appreciation. Code Geass is a grand political drama whose varying sides and complex characters all serve to make each mecha confrontation all the more tense and harrowing.
Star Wars is very much a space opera whose tales of political intrigue and overwhelming force have attracted all the underdogs out there. Providing fans with a near religious sense of empowerment as well as a branded banner to live under, it is a franchise that just feels incredible to be a part of.
Fullmetal Alchemist is Star Wars if Star Wars were more direct with its political themes and if it went towards a much stronger direction. The journey of Edward Elric and Alphonse is certainly one to connect with the great tragedies following Star Wars leading characters, and its Nazi fill ins more than parallel the Nazi fill in of Star Wars.
It does make it here on this list, though, because it parodies Star Wars in more than one occasion, with two entire arcs being dedicated to being outright parodies of the franchise. They even straight up name a character "Obi Wan" and put an Elizbeth-like alien in a Darth Vader costume.
Email. 0. Comment. Anime is a medium to rival all others. In addition to the animated platform allowing for greater forms of expression, anime in particular has a long history of tradition and innovation that has shaped one of the most culturally distinct art forms out there today. However, it is not the end all, be all of all entertainment.
Following years of rumors that Ewan McGregor would reprise the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in a movie, McGregor's Obi-Wan will instead return in a limited series on Disney+. The series is set in between Episodes III and IV and will, at least initially, showcase Obi-Wan's life as a hermit on Tatooine.
The latest Star Wars animated series is expected to return for a second season in 2022, as Clone Force 99 continues to find its purpose in the early days of the Empire. We're expecting Season 2 to reveal more about the true nature of Omega and her connection to Emperor Palpatine's twisted cloning experiments.
Diego Luna's rebel spy Cassian Andor will be the star of his own live-action Star Wars series on the Disney+ streaming service. Andor will focus on Cassian's exploits before the events of Rogue One.
The first live-action Star Wars series will return for a third season, having taken a year off to make room for The Book of Boba Fett. Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin will return, as the lone gunfighter deals with the fallout of Season 2 and the responsibilities that come with wielding the Darksaber.
This Mandalorian spinoff series will focus on Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano. The series will be set in the same era as The Mandalorian itself, so rather than fill in the missing gaps in Ahsoka's story, it'll likely revolve around her hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn, as teased on The Mandalorian.
Russian Doll's Leslye Headland is overseeing a new live-action series on Disney+ set during the High Republic era, 200 years before the events of the prequels. Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy teases the series will "will take us into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emergent dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."
While Lucasfilm seems to have no plans for a sequel to 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lando Calrissian is set to get his own live-action series. Little is known about the project other than that it's being developed by Dear White People's Justin Simien. Presumably, the series will see Donald Glover reprise his role as Lando.
