The fight scenes are terrible, too short, and super predictable. Unlike Pokemon xyz, which had good action in which the outcome was very surprising at times, Pokemon Sun and Moon has action that is the exact opposite. Watching chaotic scenes of pokemon bashing into one another isn't exciting anymore.
The main reason why Sun and Moon got so much hate initially was only because it happened just after arguably the best series of Pokemon ever- XY and Z. Almost everything in the XYZ series was Perfect! The animation, battles, team flare arc, shipping etc.
There's nothing wrong with Pokemon Sun & Moon serie but I felt that Ash's character design in Pokemon Sun and moon is absolutlely terrible because his face is very very ugly and his body is very skinny and acted more like a child than his prevoius past series.
Yea, there's quite a lot of hate here. I guess what makes this anime still a bit charming are the cute and colorful Pokémon, the interesting story and..Ash wins the Alola league. Holy Arceus this just took me about 15 minutes just for a single post like this. Tell me how you think of the Sun and Moon anime, please. I'd appreciate that.
The show definitely does not have the action-packed animation that was in the previous season, Pokémon the Series: XY, but the animation in Sun and Moon is still extremely charming and great in its own way. The storyline in Sun and Moon is what you'd expect from a Pokémon anime.
Overall, yes it's bad. However it does have some good episodes and good pokemon. The main reason why Sun & Moon is so bad, is the art style. Here's a side by side comparison of XYZ(which had the best art style out of any Pokemon series) and Sun & Moon.
Yes you can skip Pokemon Sun and Moon and go straight to Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon but I find that the story makes a little more sense if you play Pokemon Sun and Moon first.
People complain about pokemon anime because it sucks . Every season follows the same boring plot , most of the season contain boring and awful filler episode and with no great character development for protagonist.
The supposed Pokémon Z never got released. Instead, the franchise skipped the third installment to start developing Sun and Moon (Generation 7).
Pokémon Sun and Moon are some of the best additions to the Pokémon series we've seen in a long time. Without dropping any of the things that have made the series great over the past 20 years, Sun and Moon still manages to feel fresh, engaging, and most importantly, improved.
Content wise, USUM was just a little bit better. USUM had some more side activities, including Mantine Surf, the photo club, and the the Ultra Wormholes. Its stuff like those that I feel the games need more of. USUM did also have a better post game with the inclusion of Team Rainbow Rocket's story.
The filler in Indigo League If you want to watch the first portion of Pokémon as efficiently as possible, here are the episodes you can skip without missing really anything: 8, 9, 17, 18, 20, 33, 34, 36-42, 44, 47-49, 53-56, 60, 62, 65-67, and 69-75.
The most common reason for lackluster animation in a weekly series is time restraints and the increasingly bad scheduling that's making anime more and more difficult to produce. So Pokémon Sun and Moon's second solution involved teaming up with a leader in animation software, Toon Boom Animation.
To go along with Ash Ketchum's Pokémon diversity flaw, he also has poor type diversity. Ash has caught countless Pokémon of the same types, and heavily neglects most of the types. In fact, he's never even caught any psychic, ghost, or fairy types.
9 He Abuses A Spearow With Rocks When Pikachu initially puts up a fight, Ash decides to try and catch a Pokémon by himself without the use of a Pokémon helper. Ash's solution here is to injure an innocent Spearow by throwing rocks at it, hoping it'll become weak enough that he can capture it.
It's decent, but not for little kids. The fantasy battling is fine for older kids, I don't think it's the kind if battling that will encourage violence, but they need to be mature enough to understand it's not the same as our world.
Satoshi's fight against Nanu is a great example; instead of losing because his Pokemon didn't have the brutal strength to beat him, Nanu really did test the bond between him and his Pokemon.
Grow up and accept the fact that the Sun/Moon anime is extremely flawed, and that it rotally screwed up not only Ash, but the Sun/Moon characters as well. All the other seasons took time and probably stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to make sure D/P anime, XY/XYZ, Johto Journeys, etc were the best they could be.
