Anime Titles Leaving Hulu Again? At the end of 2021, it seemed like Hulu was going to lose some anime, probably due to the expiration of licenses. In 2022, the titles stayed up and no longer had expiration times on them, so I assumed that they regained streaming rights.
According to Hulu, the website's contract with Toei Animation ends on April 28th, marking the end of their longtime streaming partnership. The website currently lists the shows as "Expiring," and the site's support account did confirm Toei's shows would be leaving the site.
April brings the series finale of The Dropout, season 2 of Woke, season 4 of Mayans M.C., and the premiere of crime drama series Under the Banner of Heaven, among other new arrivals. Read on for all of the highlights, as well as everything else coming to Hulu — and leaving — throughout the month.
The loss will take away some of the company's most popular shows like Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, One Piece, Fist of the North Star, Digimon Adventure tri., and Toriko. In particular, One Piece has a long history with Hulu.

That means you only have a few days left to enjoy films like teenage romance Love, Simon; the John Ford classic Western The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance; and Paul Thomas Anderson's Oscar-nominated film The Master.
A group of shows including: Digimon (all four seasons), Parasyte, Clannad 1 & 2, Toradora, Akame Ga Kill, Maid Sama, Utano Prince Sama, Golden Time, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, Say I Love You, The Fruits of Grisaia, Persona 4: the animation, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, and My Love Story are all expiring from Hulu!
But, in carrying so many movies and shows, Hulu is dealing with a great many studios, production companies and broadcasters, and, inevitably, licenses are expiring all the time. That means plenty of shows and movies are leaving Hulu (opens in new tab).

Hulu hasn't announced any initiative to purge itself of anime. However, to those who've been closely watching the company, this is a shock but not a surprise. The site had stopped taking back catalog shows, and was slowly deleting the least popular ones from the site for months.
It was announced today that Funimation's library will move to Crunchyroll, making the streaming service the premiere anime destination. (Likely related, a lot of anime series are leaving Hulu by the end of March.)
While many first watched it on Netflix, Hulu, and Funimation at different times, it's now no longer available in the U.S. on those platforms. Instead, the series is available to stream in full with Japanese audio and English subtitles on Crunchyroll.
There are some Oscar winners and nominees, like 127 Hours, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Slumdog Millionaire. There are a couple of Cheech & Chong movies, leaving in a puff of smoke after 4/20. The Twilight films will also leave in a cloud of sparkly dust at the end of the month.
The content will remain downloaded for up to 30 days, or expire two days after a download begins playback on a device. An expiration isn't the end of the world, unless it's a series that will no longer be available on Hulu. After a title expires, subscribers can simply download that content again.

At every apartment complex we have lived at, they send apartment information (emails, calls, etc.) only to my husband. My bank account changed my husband to primary owner after I added him onto it, after I had had the account for over 5 years.
Anime fans aren't the only media devotees who will find a lot less to watch on Hulu; the launch of Turner Classic Movie's FilmStruck service means that the Criterion Collection will be leaving Hulu in December.
Hulu might be best known for its catalog of network TV shows, but for fans of Japanese animation it's been a great resource for anime titles both new and old. That looks like it's changing on June 1st, with a significant bulk of Hulu's anime catalog disappearing as the service streamlines to include only the most popular titles.
Justin Sevakis of Anime News Network says that Hulu stopped accepting back catalog programs months ago, and has been gradually purging lower-performing titles since then. June 1 just represents a grander sweep -- possibly an attempt by Hulu to streamline its offerings before it begins offering live TV in 2017.
Two series thought to be leaving, Last Exile and Chobits, will still be available on Hulu for the immediate future.
Its latest thriller premieres on Hulu, and casts Broad City actress Ilana Glazer as a woman whose fertility treatments take a creepy — and potentially supernatural — turn, forcing her to question her own sanity. Pierce Brosnan portrays the fertility doctor who might have sinister plans for her pregnancy.
