Anime dubs are usually bad because they are simply not that well adapted. The Japanese language is specific. Dubs tend to adapt the original, instead of just translating it, which ends up being inferior to the original in most cases (especially when English dubs are concerned).
They feel that having to read the subtitles distracts them from the action, so they prefer watching a less-distracting version of the anime show in their native language. Another good reason why dubbing is the preferred way to watch anime is that some have access to the dubbed version of an anime show first.

One of the big arguments in favor of dubbing is that it preserves the cinematic experience more fully than subtitling while also allowing for more film dialogue to be translated. There are other, more insidious, political arguments, too, but we'll get to those in a minute.
(REMINDER: anime was a $24 billion industry in 2020 alone). According to Sara Secora, who has worked with Funimation, voice actors currently receive $35-75 an hour to dub anime. Lots of people outside the VO industry are arguing that they believe $35 to $75 an hour to dub anime is an incredible rate.
Voice actors usually only see the parts of the anime/movie and script, which they record. Their might be special occasions, when they are able to see the complete episode, but that is definitely rare.
From Part 1 to Part 5, the dub has been consistently good and great, and almost every voice fits like a glove. I particularly enjoy Josephs young and old voices, Jonathan and Speedwagon and Will Zeppeli (and basically all of Part 1's voices), and other standouts like Avdol and Enyaba and STROHEIM HIMSELF!
Is Ghost Stories on Funimation? Ghost Stories is not on Funimation either. Still, this is also a well-known streaming platform for anime. A subscription starts at $5.99 per month or $59.99 a year.
To that end, director Steven Foster reworked the show into a pure Gag Dub by throwing out nearly all of the original script. When the voice actors were called in to record scenes, whoever got there first would set the tone and subject for the scene, which meant the other cast members had to follow in those footsteps.
