Here at Hulu, we’re always working to secure more of the shows and movies you love most. However, on occasion, some of your favorite programming may need to be removed. Whenever this happens, we do our best to inform you by moving the content that’s expiring to the Expiring section of My Stuff.

That looks like it's changing on June 1st, with a significant bulk of Hulu's anime catalog disappearing as the service streamlines to include only the most popular titles. The list of expiring anime includes programs from Anime Network, Funimation, Sentai Filmworks, Toei Animation, NIS America and Viz Media.
It was announced today that Funimation's library will move to Crunchyroll, making the streaming service the premiere anime destination. (Likely related, a lot of anime series are leaving Hulu by the end of March.)
Darling in the Franxx was available on the Hulu network till Oct of 2020 after which Hulu decided to remove it. The reason behind its disbandment of the popular series is due to licensing issues with the popular American anime company Crunchyroll.
The only way you can watch the expired movies or shows is by researching which streaming service has its streaming rights. As for Hulu, an expired movie or show will no longer be available in the library and can no longer be streamed unless Hulu decides to buy the licensing rights to stream that content again.
While you can watch full seasons of many shows on Hulu, some series may only offer a few of the latest season's episodes to air. This is known as “rolling” availability and is related to streaming rights.
