Anime is 'overpriced' because it's expensive to make, you then have to pay more to actually air it, and the audience just isn't big enough to support the industry without that pricetag. Halving the price wouldn't double their sales. #9

The primary reason video games are expensive is budget. The budget includes the cost of research and development, the cost of running a company, retaining talented employees for game development, marketing and distribution, royalties, and game maintenance.

Gaming is so expensive because technology tends to stay at a global price instead of a local price. So, the relative price of technology is more closely related to forex trends, exchange rates and inflation of the country being considered.
Once a game has been given out as a freebie, its value is basically gone. Publishers need games to start at a $60 price point so that they can make as much money as possible when their game is first released.
The $60 video game dates back to at least the 1990s. Rarely has a game exceeded that price threshold in the three decades since, even as inflation drove the dollar's value to nearly half of what it was in the days of the Super Nintendo.
The reasons that Breath of the Wild is soo expensive is that it is published by Nintendo, the game is massive, it is relatively new, all Nintendo titles are Evergreen titles. Nintendo always puts out great games and they will continue to do so for many years to come.

Every Nintendo game console games are expensive because their games are exclusive, their production cost is so high, and after all, they have their brand value. Nintendo meanwhile focuses more than any other company on the physical act of gameplay and interaction between the player, the controller, and the game.
Only hardcore gamers buy consoles which are very low in number compared to other countries. Gaming is not a full time career for Indians and therefore they don't invest in consoles.
So, the main reason that PC parts are abnormally expensive right now is that there has been a global chip shortage from 2020 to now. (December 2021 when this is being written, though the shortage is likely to continue into 2022.)
This massive increase in demand was quickly felt by the computer industry, and the industry responded by increasing the price of computers and computer components to reflect the increase in demand coupled with the decrease in availability. Scarcity plus high demand equals more expensive parts.
Entertainment in general isn't cheap in japan. It's the same for music, cinema, dvd/bluray, etc.
It's not actually anyone's fault, it's just how the industry and prices are over there in Japan. The people in Japan have to bear with these prices and I guess, so do we if we intend to play their games.
9. Secret of Mana - Somewhat of a soulless remaster by Square that takes a while to get used to with the SNES quality of life. With that being said, it works really well as a handheld Vita game and I ended up enjoying it, particularly the OST.
It's not even the Japanese devs fault, it's a standard. It's to be expected from Japanese games, for these games that are launched outside of Japan, they follow the standard of our games which is like you said ~50$. The games being "blow away", is just your own personal preference and there are a million of other games that are exclusive to Japan only and that's just how it is.

The anime industry, both in the US and Japan, quickly translated it to DVD. They launched the first DVD players in November 1996 in Japan, and the US launched theirs in 1997. Also, not to forget the Europe who launched there in 1998 and Australia in 1999. The fir
The box always mentions the content, as well as age, recommended to watch. Always keep checking on what your kids watch when it comes to anime. But some are kids friendly.
Many people think that buying an anime DVD is not a good idea or a waste of money. They may prefer to stream anime series from Netflix or other sources. However, buying an anime DVD is worth it since you buy it once, and you can re-watch it as many times as you wish.
I’m jumping right into the meat of this. Licensing is one of the big reasons why anime figures have those hefty price tags. A toy manufacturing company cannot just make any character from any franchise that they want. They need to get permission from the Anime production companies to do it first, even if there is high demand for them to make a particular character. Producing a figure of a character without getting permission to do so will likely result in them being sued for copyright infringement.
Supply and demand, the quantity and quality of the figures, licensing, and distribution are all major factors in determining the price of anime figures/figurines. In a nutshell, that sums things up. It’s difficult to determine the costs of licensing as most of those conversations take place “behind closed doors” and we are not privy to that information.
Many anime figures are not distributed in the West. Some are only distributed in Japan and maybe South East Asian countries. If you lived in one of these countries, those figures could be significantly cheaper—sometimes half the price.
If you purchase a figure from Japan or another foreign country, the cost of international shipping is going to increase the amount you will pay for that figure. Also, tariffs may have an impact on the price.
That reality is that anime figures are expensive —move expensive than your average action figure produced by a company like Hasbro.
The mold, the colors, and painting is just superior in every way. Yes, I know Overwatch is not an anime; however, Good Smile puts the same effort into their Overwatch figures as they do all of their other figures—many of which are related to various anime.
Even though it is relatively popular, anime is still not mainstream enough for there to be anime figures on the shelves of Wal-Mart and Target across the world. It would be a waste of money to produce that many.
