Though both humans put up a strong fight, Lu Bu and Adam eventually succumbed to their divine counterparts, leaving humanity behind 0-2. The fight ended with Zeus falling to his knees, and it's assumed he's the one that lost; however, Zeus soon reveals that Adam died at the end of the fight, but his stubborn humanity kept him still standing.
Even after losing his eyesight and greatest weapon, Adam was capable of withstanding a barrage of attacks from Zeus and even managed to trade blows with him. Those attacks were from Zeus' True God's Right/Left, which were described as being an unavoidable one-hit kill by Brunhilde.

As the gods were deciding on mankind's destruction, Brunhilde took the humans' side and suggested the start of Ragnarok. The gods, seeing the suggestion as pointless, refused to take part in it, citing that it was "a waste of time". However, Brunhilde taunted them, declaring that they were "chickening out". The mere suggestion that they feared direct conflict with mortals caused such anger among the gods that they decided to accept Brunhilde's proposition, if only to put her in her place. Thus began Ragnarok, the final confrontation between Man and God.

"Record of Ragnarok" is a new anime series that joined Netflix's strong anime collection on June 17, 2021. On the surface, the show has a deceptively straightforward premise. Humanity has lived for 7 million years, growing exponentially. Every 1,000 years, the gods from the various pantheons gather for a Valhalla Council to decide whether to allow humans to continue living. When the show begins, the gods have decided at the latest Council that humanity doesn't deserve to live on Earth because of the crimes we've committed against it. But then, the Valkyrie Brunhild intervenes and convinces the gods to give humans one last chance: an epic fighting tournament between 13 gods and 13 of humanity's greatest fighters.

Adam’s love for mankind and his persistent spirit moves everyone, including the gods, and his death is one of the more touching moments of Record of Ragnarok. Though the series has some faults, it does gradually improve as it goes on.
If we consider the fights in Record of Ragnarok to be a clash of personalities, then the best fight -- hands down -- is the one between Adam and Zeus. As the king of gods, Zeus is pompous, egotistical and an absolute showman.
But Kojiro’s Valkyrie, Hrist, uses her special skill, "re-Völundr," to recreate two swords, and he’s able to turn the tide around. The fight finishes in the most brutal way, with Kojiro cutting off both of Poseidon’s arms and his torso into quarters.
