Please continue reading at your own risks. Rena ( 零奈 れな?) is an identity secretly taken on by one of the Nakano quintuplets in disguise. She could be the mysterious girl that Fuutarou Uesugi encountered during his elementary school trip in Kyoto five years prior to the story.
Rena has chest-length dark-colored (dark-red in the anime) hair that has bangs swept to the right side, light-colored or dark-colored eyes (dark-blue in the anime), a well-endowed figure with large breasts and full pink lips; traits (like her beautiful looks/figure etc.) that had been passed down to her daughters.
Rena can be referred to as the Girl in the Photograph that was taken with a young Fuutarou, although it was proven it wasn’t actually her. 5 years prior to the start of the story, Rena was seen defending the young Fuutarou Uesugi from getting into trouble with the police.

However, Rena is actually one of the quintuplets in disguise trying to help Futaro cut ties to his past—but who was she? Towards the last few episodes of season two, it's revealed that Itsuki was Rena all along, and she used their mother's name as an alias.
Young Nakano, or The Girl in the Photograph, is an a tenative reference to a young girl that Fuutarou Uesugi encountered during the Kyoto school trip five years prior to the main story. She is one of the Nakano Quintuplets.
Futaro marries Yotsuba in the manga series. Yotsuba is the best girl and she was the very same girl in the photo that Futaro has kept all these years. It fits for her to be the bride of Futaro.
Yotsuba is the one who first met with Fuutarou five years ago.
Near the end of the first season of Quintessential Quintuplets, Miku confesses to Ichika that she loves Futaro. This marked the starting point for her trying to capture his heart as well as the others realizing they may be in love with him.
Miku realizes why she likes Fuutarou, it's because of the warmth he emanates. Miku wants Fuutarou for herself, but she likes the six of them being together.
Nino Nakano: Nino knows and has seen the photo. She also knows about the girl & her history.
Maruo is Rena's new husband. Before getting married, Marou was one of her students who often visited her in the hospital when she became ill.

Rena is known to be a very serious, unsociable, strict and stern woman, especially when it comes to teaching her students as she would often punish her students with iron-fist sanctions, but she was also very forgiving and for that (as well as her appearance), she was adored by her students that there was a student fan club dedicated to worship her.

Itsuki was definitely close to Rena as Itsuki goes to her mother's grave on the 14th of every month. Rena also acted as a role model for Itsuki, who listens to her words, especially when it came to choosing men. Due to this, Itsuki aspires to become a teacher just as her mother once was.
Rena Nakano (中野 零奈, Nakano Rena, "zero-na") The quintuplets' deceased mother. She was "a gentle and maternal female" according to Itsuki's words. During her lifetime, she was a stern and strict teacher, and she often punished her students with iron-fist sanctions.
The quintuplets' grandfather; Rena's father. He is the operator of the old-fashioned hot-spring inn "Kumatora" (熊虎, Kumatora, "Bear Tiger"). He is usually quiet even when talking to the guests.He teaches Futaro on how to tell the difference between the sisters.
She enjoys sleeping and her room is incredibly messy. She aspires to become a movie actress and dedicates most of her time and resources to do so, to the point of having to quit schooling in order to focus on her acting career. She likes salted fish but hates mushrooms. Her favorite drink is frappuccino, her favorite animals are hippos, her favorite TV program type is drama, her best subject is mathematics, and her daily hobby is jogging. She falls in love with Futaro and wanted to confess to him, but hearing Nino confessing to Futaro prevented her from doing so. As she grew to accept she wanted Futaro for herself, she started using underhanded methods to get closer to him and sabotage her sisters in the process. She used Miku's disguised as a way to "cheat" her way into his heart, almost sabotaging Miku's chances to confess in the process. It's revealed that she met Futaro 5 years before the start of the story: after Futaro and the girl from the photo (Yotsuba) had spent the entire day together and both went to the inn the quintuplets were staying at, she was interested in him and played cards with him while Yotsuba was gone, with Futaro himself unaware that he was interacting with another quintuplet. She had forgotten about this exchange until they reunited years later, when he put a blond wig as a disguise, resembling the way he looked years ago. After getting called out by Futaro on her schemes and realizing the error of her ways, she helps Miku properly confess to Futaro and decides to stop pursuing her love towards him, lying to him that their moments together were all "lies". She becomes his guide on his path to accept he was in love and becomes the first quintuplet in knowing his choice. After Futaro's choice at the end of the school festival, she congratulates him and pushes him to be more open with his feelings. 5 years later, she becomes a famous actress around the world.
Connecting after enjoying their adventure during the day, both promised to improve their grades in order to apply to highly profitable jobs and make their respective families have a better lifestyle, specifically Raiha for Futaro and Rena for Yotsuba. However, due to her own low self-confidence and identity issues while growing up, as well as Rena's death soon after the Kyoto trip, she slowly started growing distant from her sisters, seeing them getting slightly better grades than her with little effort while she studied hard with unsuccessful results, frustration building on her. She then decides to focus on clubs and develop her athletic abilities, dropping studying completely as she lost her resolve, changing her mindset from self-improvement to competition for recognition above her sisters and be recognized as the superior of the sisters. That ultimately costs her getting expelled from her previous school, but her sisters refuse to leave her alone and follow her.
Nakano Quintuplet sisters. The sisters are all physically identical with large blue eyes, light-reddish hair, cute expressive faces and shapely figures. Despite their different hairstyles, the sisters are experts at impersonating each other and often do so for pranks or convenience.
His favorite drink is barley tea, his favorite animals are gorillas and his daily convention is storing one coin. In his student handbook he keeps a photo of a girl he met in Kyoto while he was in sixth grade, who was his inspiration to study. It is later revealed that she is one of the Nakano Quintuplets.

1 Who Was The Kyoto Girl? Aside from the identity of Futaro's future bride, one of the biggest mysteries in the series has been who the girl in Futaro's photo is. In season one, the only thing the viewer could be certain of was that it was one of the five sisters.
While on the camping trip in season one, Nino mistakes Futaro in a blonde wig as "Kintaro" (a relative he made up), who ends up leaving a lasting impression on her after he saves her from falling off a cliff. Since then, Nino has longed to see Kintaro again, completely unaware that it was actually Futaro .
Futaro has trouble telling the quintuplets apart since most of them are pretty good at impersonating each other. In season two, this ends up becoming a trial by fire for him as all of the quintuplets are dressed like Itsuki for the sake of their grandfather.
At first, it seems like Futaro still isn't going to catch on—but after some advice from the sisters' grandpa, he manages to start recognizing little things like verbal ticks and body language. This enables him to tell the identical sisters apart.
Season two opens with a flashback to Futaro's chance encounter with them, but things start to become clearer towards the end of that season. At first, with Itsuki trying to jog Futaro's memories of Kyoto and Ichika seeing the photo for herself, it seemed like one of them might be the girl from the photo.
Thankfully, the quintuplets can reconcile at the end of that arc.
The Nakano Quintuplets have an average height, pinkish red/light red hair color, large and dark-blue eyes,. Their three sizes are B88-W50-H159. Maruo Nakano confirms that the Nakano Quintuplets are "identical quintuplets" and Miku Nakano states that their physical measurements are the same and Ichika Nakano also confirms that she and Yotsuba Nakano have the same figure.
Rena Nakano (the Quintuplets' mother) passed away 5 years prior to the beginning of the main story and Maruo Nakano (the Quintuplets' stepfather) lives in a different residence. They were students of Kurobara High School before transferring to Fuutarou Uesugi 's school.
Itsuki, Nino and Ichika wear a handbag, Yotsuba wears a sports bag and Miku wears a ranzel. The sisters usually spends more than twenty thousand yen for their clothes. Yotsuba is shown to wear an animal-themed pajamas while Ichika is shown wearing night gown. All of the Nakano Quintuplets have the same phone model.
In the past, the Nakano Quintuplets had very similar looks. All five of them have matching long straight hair and dress lightly with matching outfits.

In the past, the Nakano Quintuplets have very similar behavior. However, due to their mother's death, they started to change. Nino Nakano commented that the changes made the sisters grew apart from one another.
The Nakano Quintuplets' similarities occur in many aspects, for example, they all dislike studying and often make a mess during their sleep. Nino and Itsuki are afraid of needles. They can also be referred to as tsunderes. Both Nino and Itsuki do yoga in the morning.
