Having grown significantly in terms of strength after the time-skip, there are only a few Marines who can hope to defeat Luffy in battle. Sakazuki, formerly also known as Admiral Akainu of the Navy, is the current Fleet Admiral of the organization and the strongest in their ranks.
even after a 10 minutes recovery time, Luffy is still left pretty weak and even his Haki would not be as strong as it should be. So, this is why Luffy cannot defeat Goku in an anime battle. Let’s used Super Saiyan 3 Goku since god and blue is a whole different level about the character feats.
Luffy's biggest mistake would be to get on the wrong side of Goku. There isn't any competition and even if Luffy got over a hundred attempts to beat Goku, he would still be unsuccessful. 6 Can Defeat: Boruto Uzumaki

Luffy is portrayed as a carefree, happy-go-lucky character with great ambition and a huge appetite, often thinking with his stomach and comically gorging himself. Optimistic and generally good-hearted, he is not as dimwitted as many believe him to be and often demonstrates more understanding than the other characters expect. Knowing the danger ahead, Luffy is willing to risk his life to become King of the Pirates and protect his crew. A capable and reliable captain, he never puts his crew or himself at risk out of incompetence. During the Loguetown story arc, Smoker (a navy captain at the time) says that Luffy "enjoys playing stupid"; Luffy responds with a mysterious smile.
Born on May 5, Luffy dreamed of being a pirate since childhood. At the age of 17, Luffy sets sails from the East Blue Sea to the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure, One Piece, to succeed Gol D. Roger as "King of the Pirates".
Oda said that he named his main character "Luffy" because he felt that the name suited him. When he later learned about the sailing term, " luffing ", he was delighted by the coincidence.
Luffy is later saved at sea by Shanks from being devoured by a Sea King, a large sea beast , and Shanks loses an arm. Ten years later, Luffy leaves the village in search of the One Piece treasure and to become King of the Pirates.
He enlists Chopper and Brook for his crew not just for their personality or appearance, but also because of his instinctive ability to read people. Luffy needs key jobs filled by his crew (cook, navigator, medic, musician, and quartermaster, filled by Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Franky respectively).
With Caesar hostage, the alliance lands on Dressrosa, where Luffy enters a tournament to win Ace's Devil Fruit. Here he finds out that Sabo is still alive and is part of the Revolutionary Army. Sabo wins the tournament, and with Luffy's blessing, Sabo consumes Ace's Devil Fruit. Due to the machinations of Doflamingo, some of the crew is forced to leave for the island of Zou. Luffy and the rest of the crew are forced to fight for their lives when they stumble on the truth of Doflamingo's operations, who attempts to kill everyone in Dressrosa to keep the truth of his rule hidden. With the aid of his fellow competitors in the tournament, Luffy defeats Doflamingo. In the aftermath, seven pirate crews pledge their loyalty to Luffy, despite his protests, marking the formation of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
Bounty. Luffy's first bounty is 30,000,000 Berries, which he receives after defeating Buggy, Don Krieg and Arlong of east blue. His second Bounty is significantly higher, at 100,000,000 Berries, after defeating Crocodile of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
Birth and Childhood. Luffy was born in Foosha Village to Monkey D. Dragon and an unknown woman. Dragon left Luffy in the care of his grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, who did many dangerous things to Luffy to make him stronger, like throwing him down a deep ravine, leaving him alone in the wild, and tying him to a balloon.
Luffy's New Family: Bandits and Brothers. After the Red Hair Pirates left, Garp took Luffy to Mt. Colubo and placed him in the care of the mountain bandit Curly Dadan and the Dadan Family. He introduced Luffy to Dadan's other ward Portgas D. Ace, but Ace was cold toward Luffy. Every day, Ace would travel away from the Dadan Family hideout, ...
Eventually, Luffy regained consciousness, and Sanji managed to go down and destroy the concrete chunk, causing Luffy's body to fly out of the pool. Luffy pulled himself toward Arlong and punched him with a variety of attacks that inflicted minor damage. Arlong mocked Luffy for his physical inferiority as a human and questioned what skillsets Luffy had in comparison to his crewmates; Luffy simply replied that his skillset was beating Arlong.
When he found out that Nami was a skilled navigator, Luffy asked her to join his crew, but she refused due to hating pirates. However, Nami said she would go with him if he went with her to visit Buggy. Luffy did so, but to his shock, Nami tied him up and offered him to Buggy as a prisoner, causing Buggy to put him in a cage. As the Buggy Pirates partied on the roof of the tavern, Luffy tried biting through the bars and pleading to be let go. Buggy decided to execute Luffy with a Buggy Ball, and he leveled an entire row of houses to demonstrate its power. He told Nami to fire the Buggy Ball at Luffy, but she decided not to and rebelled against the Buggy Pirates. As the Buggy Pirates went to attack her, Zoro arrived and stopped them. Zoro then cut Buggy into pieces, but Buggy revealed that he could separate his body parts at will with the Bara Bara no Mi as he stabbed Zoro with his disembodied hand. Luffy then called Buggy "Big Nose", causing Buggy to send one of his hands to cut Luffy with a knife. However, Luffy caught and broke the knife with his teeth, and he had Zoro and Nami flip the cannon around and fire the Buggy Ball at the Buggy Pirates.
Luffy starts his battle with Arlong by punching him.
The Red Hair Pirates realized in shock that Luffy had eaten the Devil Fruit they took and revealed to Luffy that he would never be able to swim for the rest of his life.
Luffy managed to survive by hiding in a barrel, which washed ashore on Goat Island. The Alvida Pirates ' cabin boy Koby rolled the barrel to a storehouse, and some of his crewmates went to open it, causing Luffy to knock them out as he emerged accidentally. Luffy asked Koby for a ship, and Koby gave him a boat he had made to escape, revealing that he was serving the Alvida Pirates against his will but was too afraid to try to get away. Luffy did not think much of Koby's lack of resolve, telling the cabin boy that he intended to become Pirate King. Koby's captain Alvida then came and destroyed the boat, but as she confronted Koby, the cabin boy found the resolve to stand up to her. Luffy was impressed with Koby and intercepted Alvida's attempt to strike Koby with her mace. The mace did not affect Luffy, and he knocked out Alvida with one punch. Luffy then told the Alvida Pirates to get him and Koby a boat, and they complied.
Luffy possesses the Gomu Gomu no Mi , which made his entire body rubbery. He has developed several gears that have allowed him to enhance his power. Also, Luffy is able to look a few seconds into the future with his Observation Haki and with Armament Haki he can protect himself. Since Luffy is a very powerful character, we will be taking a look at five characters that he can't defeat and five he can.
Luffy's biggest mistake would be to get on the wrong side of Goku. There isn't any competition and even if Luffy got over a hundred attempts to beat Goku, he would still be unsuccessful.
Gintoki is a master swordsman and his skills with the sword are only matched by just a handful of characters. However, Luffy's power is far greater than Gintoki 's and if they have a 1v1 fight, it will end in an easy win for Luffy.
Comment. Monkey D. Luffy is the main character of One Piece. He is one of the most well-known characters within the anime community. He appears to be a simple-minded character, but he knows when to be serious. Luffy had really big dreams ever since he was a kid and in order to fulfill these dreams he needed to become powerful.
He leads a new generation of ninjas. Boruto is a fledgling, but he's still a talented ninja nonetheless. He is dubbed a prodigy by his peers and teachers, and he has shown what he's capable of achieving already. Boruto has a lot of weapons in his arsenal, but none so powerful that it can seriously damage Luffy.
Tanjiro learned several techniques from his teacher and that allowed him to beat very strong enemies. But, Luffy is just a cut above anything Tanjiro has faced and it will be a one-sided match.
I thought about adding or not adding this form of Luffy because this was like a one-time thing. A temporary power-up you might say. During Thriller Bark, Luffy was force-fed around 100 Shadows. This was done by the spirits that were wandering the Thriller Bark. This form was first seen during the fight between Oars and Moria.
Luffy’s Gear Second was first revealed to us in Enies Lobby. This ability made Luffy gain tremendous speed and agility that combined with his brute strength, making him a human-machine gun. To use this ability, Luffy has to pump up blood from his legs. Increasing the blood flow of his body and forcing more oxygen and nutrients all over his body.
Gear Third is a technique that Luffy can use simultaneously while using Gear Second. It was first revealed on Enies Lobby. The technique works when Luffy bites his thumb and blows on it to inflate the bones of his body to create giant fists or legs to fight an enemy.
Before you come at me with pitchforks, I personally do not even count this as a legit form of Luffy. But there was this one fight with Gecko Moria where Luffy used this form so, I’m going to use that excuse to add this form as Gear two point five.
Right now, for those who are up to date with both the anime and the manga, Gear Fourth is Luffy’s strongest gear. But this gear is special. It has different forms of its own that show different types of strengths and weaknesses. Luffy uses these different Gear Fourth forms based on which type of enemy he is fighting.
Prior to the timeskip, Luffy would initiate this technique by using his leg as a pump to increase the blood flow in all of his body parts. As a result, all of his body parts become stronger and faster. The technique used more oxygen and energy.
Luffy has developed a total of six Gears so far. They are divided across four levels. In this article, we are going to rank the Gears by their strength and give you all the necessary information you need to know about each of them individually.
Due to the increase in Luffy’s metabolism that Gear Fourth causes , he can leave his Tankman form a short time after using it. This was the case when Luffy was able to burn the huge amount of cookies he ate in his fight with Cracker shortly after defeating the Sweet Commander.
In this technique, Luffy speeds up the blood flow in all or selected parts of his body to supply them with more oxygen and nutrients. This makes him much faster and more powerful. The technique consumes even more oxygen and energy, causing more food to be consumed and Luffy to pant heavily.
The increase in his metabolism causes him to be hungrier than usual or even have paralysis-like effects after prolonged use, as in the second battle with Rob Lucci, where Luffy could only lie on the ground. Lucci, one of the first of Luffy’s opponents to witness this, compares the process to doping.
The enhancements to Luffy’s physiology in this mode give him the ability to use a new, more powerful set of techniques that are generally the same as his old ones , but so fast that even an experienced assassin would have trouble seeing them.
During his battle with Charlotte Katakuri, Luffy revealed another form of the Fourth Gear, the Snakeman. Unlike his other two Gear Fourth forms, Luffy does not expand significantly. His forearms, legs, and torso are only slightly enlarged, while the rest of his body maintains its normal proportions. Haki’s expansion is slightly more limited, as it does not appear to expand to Luffy’s shoulders and torso.
The Third form, Snake Man , is slimmer and focus on offense, with the lacking in defensive part except for the other two forms. Luffy is allowed an enormous speed up and frequently alter changes the direction of his attacks to harm his opponents from every direction. This is also the newest transformation of Luffy.
If you guys don’t know who Luffy is don’t worry let have a look at it first. As captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy has the greatest authority over a powerful and diverse crew consisting of several infamous members. The Character Luffy has a great influence on his crew and that is the reason everybody trusts him.
Luffy builds the size of his veins, pumping more oxygen and supplements to his body. This form builds his power and speed several-fold. Before his two years of training, this Gear transformation threatened his lifespan and also low down his stamina.
The Character Luffy has a great influence on his crew and that is the reason everybody trusts him. Now, Luffy calls his main transformation “gears”. Other than this he has different another form too but I’m only including Nightmare. Now let go down and have a look at the list of all Luffy’s transformation.
Luffy used this form only once while fighting Charlotte Cracker, who can produce Biscuit warriors. Luffy ate all Biscuit warriors gaining a gigantic stature.
Monkey D. Luffy (Japanese: モンキー・D・ルフィ, Hepburn: Monkī Dī Rufi, [ɾɯɸiː]), also known as "Straw Hat" Luffy , is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the One Piece manga series, created by Eiichiro Oda. Luffy made his debut in chapter one as a young boy who acquires the properties of rubber after accidentally eating one of the devil fruits the Gum Gum Fruit, originally known as the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika.
When Eiichiro Oda created Luffy, he strove for a "manliness" similar to that of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball series. Oda said that he named his main character "Luffy" because he felt that the name suited him. When he later learned about the sailing term, "luffing", he was delighted by the coincidence. In his prototype one-shots, "Romance Dawn", Oda refined the artistic style and story elements before publishing the final product a year later as the first chapter of One Piece. In the …
Luffy is usually recognizable by his straw hat, a gift from "Red-Haired" Shanks. In his early childhood, he wears a white shirt and blue shorts. The character has a scar under his left eye from stabbing himself to demonstrate his courage to Shanks and his crew. He later wears a red vest, denim shorts, and sandals, before replacing his vest with a red, unbuttoned sea captain's coat (revealing the X-shaped scar on his chest he received from Akainu), and a yellow sash tied aroun…
Luffy first appears as a young boy in Windmill Village located in the Goa kingdom, who befriends the pirate "Red-Haired" Shanks and intends to become one himself. According to Funimation Entertainment's Mike McFarland and Christopher Sabat, Luffy was more likable than Dragon Ball's Son Goku.
