Junji Ito is a master of horror to which there is no rival. His pacing, detail and compositions are unbelievably calculated and well-made. Each panel drips with the oppressive weight of his inking and nail biting suspense. There is no bland or useless panel in a Junji Ito manga.

Both Collection and Yamishibai are horror anime that are very spooky and focus more on suspens e than gore. Sometimes jump-scares are used, but they tend to focus on having an errie, suspenseful, or sinister atmosphere. Their stories are also bite-sized, which helps them from being too boring. If you enjoyed one, check out the other.
Boogiepop Phantom is a loosly collected accumulation of episodic horror stories surrounding the titular Phantom, Boogiepop- an angel of death. Junji Ito Collection has multiple sets of stories centered around multiple monsters that are also episodic. The two are horror, have short lived characters, and have good atmospheric buildup. The nature of the horror with its twilight zone feel is also similar.
