A new anime adaptation titled Blade of the Immortal -Immortal- (無限の住人-IMMORTAL-, Mugen no Jūnin: Immortal) was listed on the cover of the July issue of Monthly Afternoon on May 10, 2019.
The Blade of the Immortal can be acquired from Coaxmetal, who offers to forge a blade that can kill even The Nameless One.

In a rather interesting turn of events, Hiroaki Samura the author of samurai action manga epic Blade of the Immortal has announced in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine that he is starting up a romance manga series which will rather strangely not feature samurai at all.
A Blade Of The Immortal Season 2 anime seems likely in the future based on the popularity of the manga series that's the source material for the anime series' story. What's more, there is already a direct manga sequel called Blade of the Immortal: Bakumatsu Arc (Mugen no Junin: Bakumatsu no Sho) that launched in 2019.

It has involved characters, a solid plot, and wonderful art. But watching this show would be a horrible mistake. The manga surpasses it in every way, and watching Blade of the Immortal will do nothing but spoil the plot. It's evident that a lot of time and effort was put into doing the manga justice.
