According to the popular anime database MyAnimeList, Mushoku Tensei part 2 is going to run for a total of 12 episodes. This is only a slight improvement from last winter's 11 episodes, capping the first season of Mushoku Tensei at 23 episodes in total.
Episode 23, the final episode of the season, revealed that Rudeus was indeed crushed after Eris left him as he felt abandoned by her shortly after she had sex with him. He was left in a depressed state as her note made it seem like he was beneath her, and thus being abandoned as a result.
So, the writers at Studio Bind have enough source material to release not one but two more seasons of Mushoku Tensei. Also, if the rumors are true and Season 2 is already in production, the studio might premiere new episodes sometime next year, probably during the Fall 2022 anime season.
