Where was the anime North 2009?

Anime North 2009 attendees outside the Toronto Congress Centre, some in cosplay. Anime North was founded by Toronto anime fan Donald Simmons in 1997 as a one-day mini-convention with approximately 700 attendees. The original venue was the Michener Institute in downtown Toronto.

Who is the mascot of Anime North?

Mascot. Hoppouno Momiji, a fictional redhead with a taste for both anime and anything Canadian serves as Anime North's dominant mascot. Momiji's many manifestations are used on all AN clothing, badges, and other wearables. She was originally created for the convention by the Japanese artist Hyi-San.

Where is the anime convention held?

Anime North ( AN) is a non-profit, fan-run anime convention, held every year in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Its major attractions, activities and events include a Masquerade, a Dealers Room, an Artists Alley, Guest of Honor presentations, Gaming (Video and RPG), Panel Discussions, Video Presentations, Contests, and Dances.

Getting to the Convention

It is strongly recomended that attendees arriving by car enter the congress centre from the North parking entrance from Martin Grove Rd to reduce congestion at the front congress centre entrance. Due to high pedestrian traffic the at the South (Front) Entrance, there may be increased traffic delays when entering from this direction.

Shuttle Bus

Anime North is happy to offer complimentary full wheelchair accessible shuttle transfer between the Toronto Congress Center (TCC) and our event hotels to all badge holders. Typical wait time is 30 minutes which may increase at peak times. All buses are on a loop and will stop at each designated stop to pick up and drop off without any wait time.

Anime North TTC Weekend Pass

A 3-day pass for unlimited travel on the TTC (buses and subways) for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is available for pre-purchase from the convention for $25 (see registration page).

Do you think hotel bookings (discounted) will be available for next year? I looked up AN weekend at the Delta out of curiosity and it said no rooms.
