Nana is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa that was adapted into an anime television series in 2006, with 47 episodes total.
Touching, addictive and poignant "Nana" is one of the best anime series in recent memory... It is no exaggeration to say that "Nana", the animated Fuji TV/Madhouse Studio TV series, is perhaps one the best written anime dramas to come out in recent years.
In June 2009, it was revealed that Yazawa had contracted a sudden illness, and had to be sent to the hospital for treatment, putting Nana on hiatus. She returned from the hospital in April 2010, although it has yet to be revealed when or if she will be continuing Nana.
Recommended Audience: Melissa: Best for 18 and over. Sexual situations (sex happens, though not explicit), high school dropouts, drugs, infidelity, pregnancy...the list goes on. Nicoletta: NANA is a mature show in many senses of the term.
While she returned from the hospital the following year, she has yet to continue working on the series. Due to the length of the hiatus and the fact that Yazawa has since been involved with other projects, many fans have accepted that Nana won't return.

Nana Osaki was the singer to her popular hometown band, until they broke up due to their bassist, (and Nana's boyfriend) Ren joining another band. Ren asks Nana to move with him so they can be together, but she is proud and doesn't want to depend on him for her livelihood.
The two decide to share the apartment and become roommates. The show then shows Nana Komatsu's relationship woes and job hunting troubles as she struggles to become more mature and stable. Independent and single Nana Osaki divides her time with odd jobs during the day, and forming a new band and writing songs by night.
36. Episode 36. Nana O stays away from apt. 707, but unknown to her, Nana K has moved into a luxurious new apartment and is spending her days knitting for the baby. Nana is the anime TV show based on the Shojo manga of the same name.
Nana Komatsu moves to Tokyo, with no job or place to live and little ambition save to be there with her boyfriend and best friends. Since she was never good in school, Nana must work hard to find a job and make it in the big city. On the train to Tokyo, Nana meets another young and mysterious girl, with the same name.
On the train to Tokyo, Nana meets another young and mysterious girl, with the same name. Nana Osaki, is the private and tough punk girl who grew up mostly on her own. Nana Osaki was the singer to her popular hometown band, until they broke up due to their bassist, (and Nana's boyfriend) Ren joining another band.
Nana Osaki is voiced by Rebecca Shoichet, voiced in even less anime than Kelly. Junko’s voice Saffron Henderson was the one of the voices of kid Goku and kid Gohan in the Dragonball series.
Nana’s older sister on the other hand is Nao Komatsu is aging a bit, she drives and lives at home with Nana’s parents. She’s more grown up and sensible, compared to her two younger sisters. There’s Sachiko Kawamura, the physical manifestation of Nana’s crazy ideas that Shouji is cheating on her.
A quick shoutout to Romi Park the Japanese VA for Nana Osaki, who is known for Edward Elric in FMA. Nana Komatsu is voiced by Kelly Sheridan, who has voiced in anime I’ve not watched.
Ren Honjou is Nana Osaki’s boyfriend. He’s a serious guy and was the bassist in Blast, before being recruited to be the lead guitar in Trapnest. Ren lived with Nana for a good few years and loves her so much, that he admitted he’d happily settle down and be a family man if Nana were to have his kids.
There are a bunch of minor characters, Mai Tsuzuki is the one who appears to be the most important. She’s a higschool girl and probably the number one fan of Nana and Blast. What’s more, she’s a good friend of Nana’s too.
The two are a couple and are pretty much set being together. Junko is like a mother to Nana, she looks after her, cares for her and even berates her when she does dumb things. Kyousuke (who also smokes) is like the gentle dad, except he has dreadlocks.
Since the Yazawa’s manga is not yet finished, the final episode essentially stops midway through the story. While the producers seem open to a second season (see the “Nana’s House” at the end of episode 47), there is a distinct possibility that there will never be an ending to Nana in anime form.
The anime Nana is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and people with subscriptions to Amazon can watch it.
The anime has released only one season with over 47 episodes and three recaps. It will take around 19 hours and 10 minutes to finish the whole season.
With only one season, it is evident that you will only need to watch the first season to know about the world of two Nanas.

It's not the greatest anime ever but it's kinda interesting if you enjoy alternate history media, i think in particular if you enjoyed the Man in the High castle you may like this anime
I have seen some people recommend this video filter on this sub, so I wanted to test it to see how good or bad it actually is considering the diverging opinions I have heard about it.
So I see a lot of discussions about encoding and formats for anime. I was wondering if there was a way to watch anime the same way the anime studio workers watch the final product.
