Overall, I think this anime fails to deliver a good romcom. There is only a little romance development and jokes fall flat. This is an anime for watching the daily lives of otaku couples. And that's it, since the only thing this anime got going for it is its relatability for people familiar with the otaku culture.
Hanako and Kabakura get into a fight when they go out for drinks after work one day. Hanako starts to worry because she thought that dating Kabakura would be easy since they were both otaku. Narumi is reminded of her own relationship as she watches Hanako and Kabakura. May 10, 2018 9:00 AM.
Another Day, Naoya receives tickets to the movies, and with encouragement from his friend, invites Kou out who, with help from Narumi, arrives in more girl-y clothes, to Naoya's surprise.
Hirotaka asks Kabakura what he and Hanako are like when they’re alone. Kabakura answers that they’re the same as Hirotaka and Narumi, but Hirotaka doesn’t fully believe him, and proposes a new idea to Narumi on the way home.
As they head to his place, Narumi talks about her childhood memories, but tells Hirotaka that she doesn't remember how they started being friends. Hirotaka has a sad look on his face as he listens.
Kou goes out to the arcade with Naoya and his friends. He accidentally spots her coming out of the girl's bathroom, leading him to become surprised at the realization, while she runs away embarrassed. Naoya goes to Hirotaka and Narumi for advice when Kou stops showing up to school. After some attempts at the two apologizing to each other, and having fun working together to evade an enemy, they reconcile. Another Day, Naoya receives tickets to the movies, and with encouragement from his friend, invites Kou out who, with help from Narumi, arrives in more girl-y clothes, to Naoya's surprise. After their date, Kou admits to how much better she feels whenever she's around Naoya, saying she likes him and wants to stay friends forever; Naoya's slightly caught off guard but still happily accepts. As they head their separate ways, the two reflect on their feelings on what they want in their relationship. Bundled with the tenth limited edition volume of the manga.

The fifth omnibus is slated to release on September 21st, 2021. These two-in-one omnibuses can be found at retailers such as Barnes & Noble's online catalog, ...
The main couple consists of the introverted Hirotaka Nifuji and the outgoing Narumi Momose, who haven't seen each other since their middle school days. Their friends Taro Kabakura and Hanako Koyanagi are quickly becoming an item too. On the surface, these four friends are simply polite and hard-working co-workers at the office -- but they are all huge pop-culture geeks underneath, a secret they intend to keep.
The world of anime is well-known for many conventions, tropes and clichés. Many rom-com series and slice of life stories are told through the eyes of high school students in particular, or sometimes college students.
Hirotaka's younger brother Naoya is also slowly forming an adorable romance with the shy gamer girl known as Ko Sakuragi. Hirotaka has a rather hands-off attitude toward his brother's love life, while his girlfriend Narumi is Naoya's top cheerleader and supporter.

Wotakoi simply aims to have fun with many things adults come to understand and deal with through life experience , and does so with classy humor and a great deal of parody that older fans of anime will no doubt appreciate in spades.
Story: It is a bit strange, as someone who has been watching anime for over 20 years, watching the push and pull of the Japanese medium evolve over time. In some sense, there exists a stigma that anything animated is for children, and therefore anime as a whole must be targeted toward children.
And yet, amidst all fundamental backstory, Wotakoi is not at all a heavy drama or a sappy shoujo. The core of the show is a slice-of-life, lightly-touched romantic comedy that aims at the development of a relationship working adults can relate to.
Screenshots. Narumi Momose has had it rough: every boyfriend she’s had dumped her once they found out she was an otaku, so she’s gone to great lengths to hide it.
Wotakoi is definitively one such diamond among the rough, aimed precisely at persons like myself who have stepped beyond our childhood anime fancy and now live in a very different world. On a superficial level, Wotakoi is a slice of life comedy with a sweet dose of romance tucked away pleasantly behind its veneer.
