Nanami Takahashi is a high school student entering her first year. Immediately on her first day however, she becomes the victim of a practical joke by the school's most popular guy, Motoharu Yano, who coincidentally also ends up in her class.
It's just basically just a typical boring story where a girl is falling in love with a popular guy at school. I just wanna add that the animation is so terrible that it made me sleep with boredom.
It is because of this that the two built a bond of closeness between them that still survives through their continued correspondence, even over such a distance. Narumi in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien isn't as outwardly cheerful as Yano, so it doesn't have as much comic relief as Bokura ga Ita. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is also a little more 'adult.'. The characters are a little older, and the relationships a little more mature, but the same basic underlying issues remain.
yukichii says... Both stories are centered around a girl's school life, but the girls' personalities and their looks are very different. In Bokura ga Ita, Yano Motoharu, who is a cool, calm and flirty boy with a careless smile, is very similar to Peach Girl's Kairi Okayasu.
Both anime are basic romantic comedies, and they have similarities in plot, characters and environment. Rizu says... Bokura ga Ita and Lovely Complex are both romance-drama-shoujo anime, focusing on a pairing between the two main characters-- no reverse harems here.
Kotoko Aihara has always been in love with Naoki Irie; he’s tall, handsome, and rumored to be the most intelligent student in Japan – who wouldn’t be? Only one thing stands in the way of a relationship with Irie: Kotoko is ditzy and is at the bottom set of her school, and Irie-kun hates nothing more than ditzy, stupid girls. When disaster strikes and Kotoko is forced to move in with Irie-kun’s family, she suddenly sees her chance to bridge the gap. After all, even cool, super-intelligent guys must have a soft spot, right?
Although Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is slightly more adult than Bokura ga Ita in the way the show tackles the issue. Aporias says... As a series both Bokura ga Ita and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien share a lot of common themes and characters.
