Story: The Prince of Tennis anime is primarily about one Echizen Ryoma, the twelve year old son of retired tennis pro Echizen Nanjiro. Ryoma's main goal in life is to one day defeat his father in a tennis match, a seemingly impossible task.
Fuji secures another win with Tsubame Gaeshi and Higuma Otoshi. Prince of Tennis or "TeniPuri," for short, is a sports anime series that focuses on the future prospects of Ryoma Echizen, a tennis prodigy attending Tokyo's private Seishun Academy.
This match, which lasts until episode 176, truly awakens Fuji's full potential as a tennis player. Flashbacks reveal a match between the two when they were first years, their subsequent friendship, and the implications of Tezuka's injury. Fuji takes an early lead, but the match is far from over.

Popular anime The Prince of Tennis will be returning to TV with its first new series in a decade! Titled New Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup, the series is set to air in 2022.
As of January 15, 2008, a total of four DVD compilations, containing the first fifty episodes of the two seasons, have been released by Viz Media. All four compilations contain three discs, each containing four episodes, save the final discs of the first two compilations, which contain five episodes.

Nanjiro tricks Ryoma into teaching Sakuno and Tomoka tennis. While trying to teach the two girls tennis, however, Sakuno accidentally disrupts the practice of a school team. In order to help, Ryoma defeats the entire team, not knowing that they are one of Seigaku's next opponents, Ginka.
Though Ryoma believes he has finally found a way to overcome his opponent's unique style and score, Akutsu shows his potential as a tennis player. He comes to respect and admire his teammates, especially the captain Tezuka who is a well known tennis prodigy that even the pro's have their eyes on. The storyline for this anime was well thought out and creative. I loved the fact that there was drama, action, and tons of laughter.
