Blood definitely is a winner in the visuals category, and probably should be watched just for that even if you don't like the idea of the story.
I was not disappointed. Blood: The Last Vampire immerses the viewer immediately into the mysterious, dark and very serious world of Saya, the organization she serves and the creatures she hunts. With interesting premise, stunning visuals, a great soundtrack and an interesting setting, the creators of this film had my attention from the first scene.

"Blood: The Last Vampire" is a highly entertaining adventure. The screenplay and the choreography of the fights blend many other movies and there is no originality. However, it works basically because of Gianna Jun and Allison Miller that perform very likable and charismatic characters.

The most famous, and most recently recorded, case of suspected vampirism is that of nineteen-year-old Mercy Brown, who died in Exeter, Rhode Island in 1892. Her father, assisted by the family physician, removed her from her tomb two months after her death, cut out her heart and burned it to ashes.
One of the best things about Blood was the virtually seamless blend of CG and regular animation. Other good points about the animation include things like the monster designs and transformations, the fight scenes, and the light and shading which deserves a special note.
CharactersCharacters, like the story, definitely weren't a strong point in Blood. This is surely because the nature of the movie was to be a beautiful piece of eye candy, not an intense epic storytelling adventure. Saya is the only character that is somewhat developed, but only because we know a few facts about her.

17 Shiki (2010) Draws From True Vampire Horror. Shiki isn't a bubbly anime about good-hearted vampires trying to adjust to normal lives. Based on a horror novel by Fuyumi Ono, it goes beyond the standards of the sub-genre. It explores survival in a world where good and evil can't be distinguished.

13 Blood Lad (2013) Wants To Find Magic To Restore Human Life. Blood Lad isn't a teen hero in the Legion of Super-Heroes. Instead, he's Staz Charlie, a powerful vampire that rules a part of Demon World. However, he doesn't have the urge to drink any blood.

However, he still retains certain abilities that include superhuman healing and enhanced vision. So, he decides to use those powers to help others that suffer from supernatural maladies.
