If he were to admit his feelings for Lena, if she died, Shin will literally have a mental breakdown. You can tell his desperation, when Lena’s at the death’s door in vol 6. Since volume 1 they're in love with each other.
The ever-earnest Lena does her best to aid Shin and the Squadron, but they know the battlefield better than her and continue operating with their own strategy. Still, she's humble and cedes to their expertise – and Shin's advice – while watching over them from afar.
Lena's sympathy for the 86's plight is shared by precious few others, but as their new Handler she's determined to do all she can to help them survive. Away from battle, Lena is building a kinship with Shin thanks to nightly talks via the Para-raid – a neck-based device that allows users to speak as well as feel each other's emotions.
Curiously, Shin and the rest of the group don't seem very happy about their new living situation. They can finally live their lives as normal people, treated like actual human beings, and they get to live in a mansion with the president of the nation as their guardian.
Do Lena and Shin Ever Meet? Yes! As it turns out, this foreshadowing wasn't for nothing as Lena and Shin survive long enough and get to meet again, this time in person. Never having since each other, not even in photographs, they two are unaware of each other's identities first.
After Meeting Once Lena joined the Eighty-Sixth Strike Package, the two had to reset their relationship. They decided on a superior-subordinate relationship while on duty, and a friendship without the need of ranks in private.
Has a Pinch of Romance. It's not a romance anime, yet, but 86-Eighty Six definitely has its tiny moments hinting towards it. It's not unwarranted either nor does it immediately rush into anything. The little moments don't deter the pacing and it creates some fan-favorite moments.
Shin's pleas caused the grieving and frustrated Rei to snap and choke Shin in a fit of violent rage. Rei brings Shin to the brink of death before the priest intervenes and resuscitates him. Shin is left with a jagged scar around his neck as a reminder of his brother's hatred.
During their R&R in the Alliance of Wald, Shin finally came to terms with his feelings for Lena. He spent most of the trip trying to find a good time to confess, and eventually was able to after the fireworks display at the ball.
Kyou KaiRi Shin is the main protagonist of the historical seinen manga and anime series, Kingdom. He is the love interest of Kyou Kai, his right hand of the Hi Shin Army and one of China's greatest martial artists.
Volume 7Volume 7 ended with Shin confessing his feelings to Lena, as well as the two sharing a kiss (much to the joy of both us readers and the cast alike), but Lena got embarrassed and ran away before responding to Shin's feelings.

During a conversation with Kurena in the showers, she reveals a derogatory inscription—"Whore's daughter"—carved into her back by her abusers. She grows her hair long to hide the scars.
So far, the entire 86 anime has been heartbreaking and the ending didn't see fit to give us a break. The last episode – for now – leaves the fate of Shin and his companions unclear, though it's strongly hinted that they're dead.
Away from battle, Lena is building a kinship with Shin thanks to nightly talks via the Para-raid – a neck-based device that allows users to speak as well as feel each other's emotions.
A further reveal comes when Lena is asked to speak to a military school's history class . It's filled with teenagers from the 85 private districts who will soon join the war effort but, like Lena, will have roles safely away from the battlefield.
After the 86-Eighty-Six premiere introduced much of San Magnolian government's racial discrimination and persecution of the 86, Episode 2 establishes more about the war they're forced to fight – and the autonomous machines they're constantly up against.
