Do I need to watch the whole anime?

You should watch the whole show, though, if you expect to understand any of it (even twice won't hurt, if you'll like it as much as I do), but only after seeing the sequel "Higurashi no naku koro ni kai" (which is not half as good, and can't really be called "horror") you'll really understand more then a few pieces. 32 out of 35 found this helpful.

Do you like the blood and Gore portrayed in the anime?

The blood and gore portrayed in the anime does help alleviate the pains of this travesty though, and the general art style isn't atrocious like in some other anime I know, so I can't give it a 0. Score - 3; Everything you would expect to see in an anime, with added blood.

What do you think about the anime Attack on Titan?

The story's original, and the characters all have wonderful personalities. However this anime does get very dark at times and may not be suitable for everyone as it DOES contain stuff like murder, child abuse, child torture, beatings, and the story keeps going back which may get on some peoples' nerves.

Because Higurashi is an adaptation from a set of games and novels, it should be noted that the first season does not provide any sort of conclusion to its events. Is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni a Yandere simulator?

I have heard from some who dropped this work because it was too confusing for them. You have to watch the first season, because in the second all questions are answered. Where does the anime Higurashi take place?

Based on the visual novel series, the anime takes place in June 1983 in a fictional village of Hinamizawa. Keiichi Maebara moves to the village and shortly afterwards learns of the village's dark secret: he learns that there was a dam project that could've flooded the village and how a construction worker was lynched, murdered, and dismembered.#N#I had watched the original Higurashi anime whilst also reading some of the manga adaptation. This was one of my favorite horror anime so when I heard that there was to be a remake, I was skeptical at first. With the first episode, looks like it's going in the right direction. The suspense is definitely there with how the girls are suspiciously dodging questions about there being any sort of crime in Hinamizawa. And the ending...good god.#N#The voice acting is fine. Art style...still don't completely love it because it still looks too slick and polished rather than being more "gritty" like the original anime's animation. But at the same time, it does established the sinister underbelly with the first scene being bloodier than in the original anime's first episode. And the original opening theme is present here. I was convinced that they would use a new opening theme, but I am really glad they used it here. It even sounds like a remastered take on it.
