After multiple delays, Riot Games' highly-anticipated League of Legends anime finally has a premiere date. Netflix confirmed that the anime series, titled Arcane, will air starting this fall 2021. The League of Legends anime will premiere on Netflix this Fall 2021.
The ARCANE animated series represents Riot Games’ first attempt at expanding League of Legends’ lore to the TV screen. They partnered with French animation studio Fortiche Production, which is mostly known for doing music videos, the 2015 animated Le dernier Gaulois documentary movie, and the Rabbids Invasion TV show in the past.
The world of @LeagueofLegends is coming to Netflix. Arcane was announced at League of Legends' 10th Anniversary Celebration in 2020 and is being developed and produced by Riot Games. The company revealed it was set in the utopian Piltover and the underground of Zaun, and will star "two iconic League Champions" which appear to be Vi and Jinx.
‘ League of Legends ‘, also known as LoL, is one of the most popular fantasy-themed MOBA PC games. With over 60 million active users, despite being one of the oldest in its genre, the game is still very well-known for its insane blend of real-time strategy aspects with RPG elements.
Back in October 2019, it was announced Riot Games were working on a League of Legends anime. Six months later, “Arcane” was officially unveiled amid the game's 10th Anniversary celebrations, where it was also confirmed that Jinx and Vi would star as main characters.
Netflix's smash-hit award-winning series Arcane, which follows the “origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart,” will not be returning this month.
The League of Legends animated series will return. Netflix and Riot Games have officially announced that Season 2 of the League of Legends animated series Arcane is on its way.
Arcane already features a number of characters from League of Legends: Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce, Ekko, Heimerdinger, Singed, and Viktor. Those last two don't much resemble their game counterparts in season 1, which will likely fit into their character arcs in season 2.
Parents need to know that Arcane is an animated action/adventure series based on the popular video game League of Legends. It features brutal physical fights between teenagers, although blood and gore is kept at a minimum. Guns, blades, and explosives are used, and children see their mother killed in an attack.
Vi is estimated to be around 14-16 years old during the first act of Arcane and is estimated to be around 20-23 years old during the second and third act.
Age: Early 30s.
Set in Riot's globally popular League of Legends IP, Arcane is an animated series developed and produced by Riot Games in partnership with Fortiche Productions.
The first season took 6 years to make and we know from the Arcane official Twitter account that Season 2 has only definitely been “in production” since November 2021. And with only a tiny teaser trailer, it has also confirmed the show wouldn't be hitting our screens in 2022, we can only hope for a 2023 release at best.
In-game, Jinx and Vi are sisters and bitter enemies, though this story fades into the background of the action, appearing only in small voice lines and character descriptions.
Vi and Caitlyn seemingly share romantic chemistry in Arcane: League of Legends, though are not yet officially a couple. During a scene in Arcane, the show all but confirms that Caitlyn is gay. Vi also calls Caitlyn “hot,” along with referring to her as “cupcake” — generally an endearing pet name.
Viktor, also known as The Machine Herald, is a villainous playable character in the multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends, and a major character in its 2021 Netflix animated spin-off prequel series Arcane. He is the best friend turned archenemy of Jayce and the creator of Blitzcrank.
With more than a million gamers worldwide, the video game now has complex deeply-rooted lore that deserves to be explored in other formats as well. With the recent announcement of the game’s anime adaptation, it really looks like Riot Games has been looking out for potential opportunities to expand to different venues. Many fans of the game had speculated that Riot Games would have something special in store for them on their 10th Anniversary but little did they know that the creators would now be willing to explore a whole new medium.
The backstories and lore of ‘ League of Legends ‘ have always been extensively vast with tons of characters and themes involved in it. So an animated series does make a lot of sense. Unfortunately, as of now, nothing much about its plot has been revealed by Riot Games. But from the recent trailer of the series itself, we can deduce some of our own theories about it.
Alongside a short teaser video, Netflix has announced that the League of Legends animated series Arcane will debut in Fall 2021. While the teaser only lasts about 20 seconds, it features League of Legends' Vi and Jinx, as well as some unknown characters who can run on walls and use lightning powers.
An online multiplayer session-based game where rival teams compete against one another for victory on highly stylized battlefields and landscapes.
Riot has announced that Arcane will premiere in autumn 2021, though they haven't set a specific date yet. Arcade was originally planned for a 2020 release date but has been pushed back to 2021 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of the flood of information for Riot's 10th anniversary event, there was a special shocker: Arcane, a new animated TV series set in the League of Legends universe that's being produced entirely in-house at Riot Games.
