Anime Con NYC 2021 is back with an in-person event this year. The convention is being held this weekend from November 19-21 at the Javits Center. The Anime NYC has been the premiere anime convention of New York City since 2017.

The convention typically offers arcade games, an artist alley, concerts, manga library (Carolina Manga Library), masquerade, panels, screenings, vendors, and video and card games. Anime NYC offered 100 hours of programming in 2017. Anime NYC's organizer LeftField Media created the New York Comic Con and also runs Washington DC's Awesome Con.
Anime NYC 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An online convention was hosted by Anime NYC and NTWRK on November 17–20, 2020 as the conventions replacement. Anime NYC 2021 will require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to attend the event.
The convention is traditionally held annually on the first weekend of July, spanning the course of four days. After canceling their 2020 convention and going virtual in 2021, Anime Expo will return to Los Angeles as a live event in 2022. Following two years of setbacks due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Anime Expo has announced that the convention will return as a live, in-person event in 2022.
