JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is the fifth season of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime television series by David Production, adapting Stone Ocean, the sixth part of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga. The first twelve episodes of Stone Ocean were initially released worldwide as part of an original net animation season on Netflix on December 1, 2021, before its scheduled airing on Japanese television in January 2022.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean anime premiered last year on Netflix. The streaming platform decided to divide the entire season of Stone Ocean into different parts, and the first batch of episodes premiered on December 1st, 2021. Part 1 consisted of 12 episodes, and all of them dropped on Netflix at once.
Why Was Stone Ocean Only 12 Episodes? The first part of Stone Ocean was released in 2021 via Netflix, with part 2 coming in 2022. 12 episodes was the chosen length for both to fit with the length of the average anime season for domestic broadcast.

The creator of JJBA, Araki Hirohiko decided to cancel part six Stone Ocean and part seven Steel Ball Run from getting an anime adaptation. He believed part six to be boring and cringy. He wants to part eight Jojolion to adapted into an anime right away so he cancelled part six and seven's anime adaptation.
As of now, no official confirmation has been made about the release of Jojo's Part 7 anime. Besides, the story of JoJo's Part 6 Stone Ocean anime is not yet completed as more episodes will be released in the coming months. So before that happens, we surely won't be getting the Steel Ball Run anime.
Stone Ocean is the last part set in the original timeline of JoJo - from Steel Ball Run onwards, the story takes place in an entirely separate continuity.

According to Comic Book, the season six confirmation comes as a huge surprise to fans who had been waiting eagerly for a word on the series' progression.
Set in 2011, Jolyne Cujoh is sentenced to 15 years in prison after being involved in a car accident and being framed for a murder. She is imprisoned at Green Dolphin Street Prison in Florida, nicknamed the "Aquarium." Her father, Jotaro Kujo, gives her a pendant that causes a mysterious power to awaken inside of her.
