It is a widely accepted fact among fans (just go to reddit and you'll know) that the One Piece anime is of poor quality. The animation/art sucks and the pacing is pathetic.
Things will looking decent somewhere around episode 300 or so (one piece was actually the first anime to use HD sometime in 2006 IIRC) and it will start looking modern around episode 600. Where we are now has good quality overall but they really ramp up the quality for big moments like in Luffy's big fights. How to: Fix your dark spots.
But not a reason to consider something bad. Length does at times contribute to the decline of a series but this it because its indicative of a creator being pressured into extending their creativity and their creation beyond where they want inevitably resulting in a decline in quality. Examples of this would be Naruto and Bleach. Their crea
Some say the art quality in one piece manga is bad. Its nothing exceptional. Its no berserk or vagabond. The art isn’t one of the reasons that would compel someone to read one piece but it defiantly shouldn't be a turn off. Oda is definitely very good at what he does.
Edit: In the anime, the change between old One Piece and new One Piece is alot more clear than in the manga. The quality of the animation started being alot better after One Piece moved to Bandai Entertainment. Yes there are big changes. Episodes 517+ happen in a time called "post-timeskip" and in "the new world".
One of the movies or the beginning of an arc are always good choices, but even in the middle of the longest arc there are recaps at the beginning of the episodes to get you up to speed or a quick “where is everyone now” at the beginning of each manga volume. Give it a couple episodes and you'll be completely immersed.
Pre time skip is more nostalgic, but after time skip fights and animation looks better, anime has been refreshed we have been presented new brilliant characters such as Katakuri, Fujitora or Kaido and arcs are better so I think that everything looks better for me after time skip.
One Piece maintained its quality despite its long run, but now the anime has started to become boring. One Piece has arguably been the most popular anime and manga series for years. Everything from its story to its characters and power system has played its part in amassing a huge fanbase.
No. it is the best manga in my humble opinion but believe me it's mostly because of its elements, not hype. The usual reasons that most fans say are true: great story, characters, setting and moments. Originally Answered: is one piece overrated?
i think the only reason one piece is getting boring is becouse the story seems to repeat itself over and over. every arc is the same, almost in every arc the sraw hats gets seperated, or luffy gets cought somehow in the begining of the arc. this allways happens and its getting on my nerves.
Despite being as colorful and cheerful as fans have made it seem, One Piece is actually an incredibly violent and bloody series that revels in blood. This includes scenes like Sanji getting stabbed in the back by Absalom, Bartolomeo cutting off someone's tongue, or half of Whitebeard's face getting melted off.
Below is a brief summary of the filler arcs you can skip from One Piece without worry:54-61: The Warship Island Arc. This is the series' very first filler arc.135-135: The Post-Alabasta Arc. ... 136-138: The Goat Island Arc. ... 220-224: The Ocean's Dream Arc.
Normally an anime episode adapts 2-3 manga chapters. But in One Piece one episode adapts less than 1 chapter, there has been times they have adapted less than 10 pages in one episode. So you cannot skip it, the scenes on their own are 100% canon but so elongated.
1) Warship Island This was yet another filler arc where the Straw Hats needed to save someone from the Marines, that time a little girl. Again, there was very little plot relevance to these particular episodes. The villains were also particularly non-threatening, in both their designs and their fighting abilities.
The conclusion. In conclusion, One Piece takes the lead over Naruto overall. Both series have strong and weak points, but their popularity is evidence that fans love them for their specific quirks.
Not really. We have Wano arc going on in 2019. Rather than boring I think it is becoming really interesting. Every chapter from 929 to 945 released in 2019 is packed with shocking developments along with a bunch of hilarious as well as emotional moments.
One Piece is one of the longest animes, with over 700+ episodes. Typically, one look at the list, people would ultimately get lazy. The art style is not ‘anime enough'. The art style used in one piece are sometimes criticized and mistaken for ordinary cartoons. Some people find it displeasing and childish.
One Piece is very controversial among anime fans because the people who likes it, calls it the greatest anime and the ones who dislikes it, absolutely hates it. That results in conflict among the anime watchers.
People who just want to insult people who enjoy one piece insult their intelligence by saying its for children. People on the other side overcompensate and try to claim one piece is actually super mature and you require a high degree of intelligence to enjoy. Neither is true.
If you are not good enough to write a drama, write a drama-comedy. If you are not good enough to write action, write action-comedy. Basically almost all shounen has a mix of comedy. The problem with One Piece is that everything is wacky even on situations that arent meant to be.
The only difference between the Remastered episodes and the old ones is the heavy increase in quality. The content remains the same. The rendering and animation is done many shades better. For example, in the old episodes, whenever the characters used to talk, it would be just the opening and closing motion of mouths.
Now, for the two of us who do watch it, One Piece is a show we’re both rather fond of, but both of us agree that it isn’t a “gateway-anime”. What this means is that for the new and sceptical, One Piece might do more to deter them than lure them in, so to say.
One piece is not for everyone. But it depends on you. The characters in the beginning hit your heart. But it might depend on you which characters you get attached too on a romanticism level. Luffy, his back story you dont find out till way later in the story.
