The end of the world doesn't necessarily have to mean the destruction of the planet itself, but it could also indicate that civilized society has ceased to function as it used to. It's a theme very commonly found in all sorts of fictional media and literature, such as I am Legend.
The ending theme is "From" by TRUE, Kinema by TRUE in episode 6 and Ever be my love by Tamaru Yamada in episode 12.

There is a nice pace to the plot, not overwhelming, but always throwing out something new. It's quite creative. The character development is good and the voice acting and the animation are excellent. This anime appears to be a winner!

Unless you are looking for that kind of content, World's End Harem is not worth watching. The story developments in World's end Harem are widely seen as thin and simplistic, feeding into the NSFW elements of the show.

It has been over 500 years since the human race almost went extinct at the hands of the fearsome and mysterious "Beasts". The surviving races now make their homes, towns, and cities up on floating islands in the sky to keep out of reach of all but the most mobile of Beasts. Only a group of young girls, dubbed the Leprechauns, can wield the ancient Dug Weapons needed to fend off invasions from those dangerous creatures. Into the people's unstable and fleeting lives, where a simple call to certain death could come at any moment, enters an unlikely character: a mysterious man who lost everything in his final battle five hundred years ago, and had awakened from a long, icy slumber. Unable to fight any longer, the man, Willem, becomes the father those kids never had, caring for and nurturing them even as he struggles to come to terms with his new life, in which he feels the pain of helplessly waiting for his loved ones to return home from battle that his 'Daughter' once felt for him so long ago. Together, Willem and the leprechauns gradually come to understand what family means and what is truly worth protecting in their lives.
Willem is the main protagonist and only "alive" emnetwiht ( 人間族#N#(#N#エムネトワイト#N#)#N#, 'human'; from Anglo-Saxon) being in a world where humans have been driven to extinction by creations they call "Beasts". Known as the Black Agate Swordmaster, he is later found under a frozen lake after being cursed to petrifaction for five hundred years by the poteau Ebon Candle. He continues his fight against the Beasts, this time as the adviser to the "Fairies," since his body is too damaged to wield a Weapon after his battle with Eboncandle. As an active fighter he once wielded Percival, a mass produced version of the Dug Weapons (once called Carillons).
Putting his life on the line, Willem Kmetsch leaves his loved ones behind and sets out to battle a mysterious monster, and even though he is victorious, he is rendered frozen in ice. It is during his icy slumber that terrifying creatures known as "Beasts" emerge on the Earth's surface and threaten humanity's existence.

There are plenty of animes that have explored the concept of the end of the world. Here are the 10 best. Apocalypse means destruction on a massive scale, usually referring to the end of the world. The end of the world doesn't necessarily have to mean the destruction of the planet itself, but it could also indicate that civilized society has ceased ...
Humanity comes to an unprecedented end as an artificially made virus decimates the global population and every human being except children under the age of thirteen are exterminated. While the world is in this devastated state, vampires suddenly emerge and take over what little is left of the world population, which now consists of only children. Yūichirō Hyakuya, who grew up with his fellow orphans at an orphanage, loses the only family he ever knew to the hands of the vampires.
The anime tells the story of a boy named "Age," who is prophesied to bring peace to the universe and is the destined savior of mankind.
Although they are thought to be extinct, a group of wolves has managed to survive by taking human appearances. Now, as the world is crumbling, they must find the way to paradise to ensure their survival and that of mankind.
According to ancient legend, when the end of the world is near a place known as Paradise will appear, however, only wolves will wield the ability to lead the way to this place.
The first half of World End Season 2 will focus on the actions of the First Beast and Ren and Willem's adventures during the retelling of humanity's last days. After facing the past, Willem escapes only to find himself become half-beast and many of his memories are sealed away in order to retain his humanity.
For example, in World End Episode 11 the characters find a girl encased in crystal. Willem activates his "spell vision," an ability never used in the anime, to analyze the curse and the narrative gives more details about the hex's abilities.
Despite surviving the First Beast Willem's journey is not over yet. The final confrontation has Willem taking on the military, who plan on turning the remaining Leprechauns into mindless weapons. It's only through more sacrifice that his story finds its bittersweet ending.
There's also the possibility that the author intends the anime to have an original ending. However, the counterpoint to that idea is that the anime shows the Great Sage incapable of finding a trace of Willem only to miss the two blips on the scrying pool. If ending the story at this point is the author's intention, many questions will be left unanswered, but at least it's a bittersweet ending. We'll just have to wait and see what comes.
