What is the ethnicity of the anime characters?

The author actually states the ethnicity of the characters when asked in a few interviews. Naruto, Sakura, Ino caucasian. The others Asian. Only an imbecile would think they are all caucasian in a Japanese animation. Most anime characters are gonna be Japanese whether they look it or not! I’m pretty sure it’s Japanese.

Hmm…well since this is an anime and the target audiance is Japanese a majority of characters will be asian. Though when features and hair colors come into play…character expression can be pretty vague across the board.

When it comes to race and ethnicity in anime, you CANNOT trust hair and eye color. It’s almost always just an aesthetic choice or to give off a certain impression of their personality. Blonde hair = cheerful and outgoing, red hair = feisty and with a temper, possibly a tsundere, etc.
