After missing Takemichi with their first shot, the members of Rokuhara Tandai fired a second shot in the hopes of finally killing him. Instead, Draken was in front of Takemichi, taking the fatal blow. Draken's death was confirmed by paramedics in Tokyo Revengers Chapter 224.
However, Takemichi keeps getting pitted against stronger and stronger opponents, and often gets beaten within an inch of his life. One of Takemichi's most admirable qualities is his ability to persevere.
When he really was a 14 year old, he constantly worried her and cared little for his. He recalls that he also took her for granted, which were factors that led to their breakup in the past. Hina is one of the few people Takemichi relies on for support.
Akkun proceeds to stand at the top of the ledge and tells Takemichi that he admires him for standing his ground, going back to the past to save Hina. He then turns to Takemichi and tells him to save all of them and jumps to his death. Akkun died.

Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old freeter with no hope in life, learns one day that his middle school ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, as well as her younger brother Naoto, are killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang. When Takemichi is pushed in front of a train, he teleports exactly 12 years into the past to 2005. Takemichi relives his middle school years, and after revealing to Naoto that Hinata will die, Takemichi is suddenly transported back to the present, creating a time paradox where Naoto survives and is now a detective. Naoto deduces that Takemichi is able to travel back 12 years when they hold hands. Using knowledge from the past, Takemichi vows to save Hinata.
The cast includes Takumi Kitamura, Yūki Yamada, Yosuke Sugino, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Hayato Isomura, Shotaro Mamiya, Ryo Yoshizawa and Mio Imada. The theme song for the film is "Namae wo Yobu yo" (名前を呼ぶよ) by Super Beaver. In April 2020, it was announced that the film's crew has halted filming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was originally set to open in Japan on October 9, 2020, but in June 2020, the film has been delayed due to the continuing effects of COVID-19. In March 2021, it was announced that the film has been rescheduled to premiere on July 9, 2021.
With only the clue that Tetta Kisaki transformed the Tokyo Manji Gang into a violent organization, Takemichi learns that the gang was absorbed into Valhalla and Mikey has become violent, having killed Kazutora over murdering Keisuke Baji on October 31, 2005, in an event called Bloody Halloween.
In June 2020, it was announced that Tokyo Revengers would receive an anime television series adaptation. The series is produced by Liden Films and directed by Koichi Hatsumi. The series features scripts by Yasuyuki Mutō, character designs by Keiko Ōta, sound direction by Satoki Iida and music composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi. It premiered on MBS and other networks on April 11, 2021. Official Hige Dandism performed the opening theme song, "Cry Baby", while eill performed the series' ending theme song "Koko de Iki o Shite" (ここで息をして, "Take a Breath Here"). Crunchyroll licensed the series outside of Asia. Muse Communication has licensed the series in Southeast Asia and South Asia and streams it on their Muse Asia YouTube channel and Bilibili.
