Jump to navigation Jump to search. Dorohedoro (ドロヘドロ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Q Hayashida. It tells the story of the amnesiac reptilian-headed Caiman working together with his friend Nikaido to recover his memories and survive in a strange and violent world.

Dorohedoro, the long-running manga given the Netflix Original Series treatment, is ripe with horror-inspired imagery, gore and violence. Steeped in a world of black magic known as “Smoke,” a pair of ultra-violent anti-heroes, Caiman and Nikaido, traverse dimensions on the hunt for evil sorcerers.
While many anime series that use this level of violence and gore would simply come off as edgy and shocking for the sake of it, the creativity in the violence the author paints and the lackadaisical attitude most characters take to it pushes Dorohedoro into a sort of campy and fun dark comedy, while also remaining ...
The two end up doing a lot of damage as a confused Chota gets caught up in destruction. Eventually, the two are separated inside and Nikaido is stabbed by a mysterious assailant. Luckily, the devil, Asu, arrives on the scene and saves her.
Also, there are episodes within the show itself that have censored nudity and it isn't subtle about it. For starters, the Manga had uncensored female nudity, while the anime in both the subbed & dubbed versions Nipples on female characters such as Ebisu and Noi are entirely nonexistent.

It has an extensive amount of fantasy violence and gore, ranging from people getting slashed or crushed to lots of blood shooting about when body parts are severed and thrown around.
The violence is the main reason the show is rated TV-MA; milder issues include occasional moderate language ('d*mn', 'h*ll', 'b*stard', 'sh*t', 'b*tch' - all fairly commonplace for anime dubs TV-14 or higher) and some mild comic references to a girl envying another over her breast size.
