Honestly, I like Citrus manga, but the anime has been highly criticized by some unpleasant development that leads to a different meaning. In conclusion, you cannot compare intimacy with ravishment, and you cannot exploit the sexual assault to propel a romantic or comedic moment.

Since the issues appear from the start, Citrus will be readily considered a bit grotesque, a raw passion and a potential drop. Finally, the overused sexual assault as a “comedy” (for some) or as a “romance” change the plot and the enjoyment.

Yes, it has sexual themes, but it wasn't “written by men for men.” And again, I am a girl. The most unforgiving aspect of Citrus is its tendency to emphasize sexual assault. In the very first episode, Mei forces down Yuzu and kisses her. The anime community was not happy about this.
The series follows the evolution of the relationship between the two girls, with the animosity slowly lessening as the two begin to learn more about each other and confusion growing as Yuzu discovers that she is starting to develop romantic feelings for her new sibling.
The Yuri Citrus manga first began serializing in Comic Yuri Hime back in 2012. Written and illustrated by mangaka Saburouta, the ongoing manga series apparently gets its name from the fact that the Yuzu fruit is a sour citric hybrid (the juice makes a vinaigrette or the Japanese ponzu dipping sauce).
Overall, the anime is very entertaining and for a drama about Yuri, it is very well done. If the thought of watching an anime about Yuri REALLY bothers you, then don't watch it. If you choose to not watch, you'll really be missing out on an excellent drama.

Sad news for Citrus fans, Studio Passione has not renewed Citrus for Season 2 yet. Despite having a huge fan base for the Yuri series, the anime adaptation received low ratings and a couple of not-so-favorable critical reviews on IMDB and MyanimeList.
Later, the manga also reveals that their parents' new marriage is a Sexless Marriage, and Yuzu's mother only married Mei's father so she could care for Mei. Coming Of Age Queer Romance: For Yuzu.

Yuzu is named after a citrus fruit and plant originating in East Asia. It is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda. Leaves are notable for a large petiole, resembling those of the related kaffir lime and ichang papeda, and are heavily scented, which relates to her infatuation with Mei's scent in chapter 1.

The yuzu bath, known commonly as yuzuyu, but also as yuzuburo, is said to guard against colds, treat the roughness of skin, warm the body, and relax the mind , which is why Mei constantly refers to Yuzu's body heat, as well as why there are multiple bathing scenes of Yuzu in the manga.

‘Citrus’ Season 1 premiered on January 6, 2018 and went on till March 24, 2018. This 12-episode anime series is adapted from a Japanese Yuri Manga series written and illustrated by Saburouta. Till date, the manga has had a total of 36 chapters and the author has been consistently releasing new volumes every four to six months. Most of the manga readers love how closely the anime is adapted and how every detail in the manga has been covered. That’s partially the reason why this show has been accepted so well by most viewers. Even the pacing of the anime is almost like the manga and it ends exactly how the 4th volume of the source material concludes.
Citrus Season 2: Premiere Date, Characters, Plot. On the outside, ‘Citrus’ is an anime about an incestuous lesbian relationship, which is quite a common theme for many adult anime these days. Yuzu Aihara is the main protagonist of the series and is also the older stepsister of Mei Aihara. She looks extremely beautiful with her dyed chestnut blond hair and emerald green eyes. She is also known for her amazing sense of fashion and stays updated with all the latest trends. She is rebellious, bold and outspoken and often customizes her uniform in her own ways which usually clashes with the school norms. This gets her into a lot of trouble and even leads her into having a lot of clashes with the Student’s Council. Since she does not have any experiences with relationships, she tries to cover it up by ranting about them all the time.
So, our best guess is that ‘Citrus’ Season 2 might only release sometime after 2020. Till then, if you’re dying to know more about how its story unfolds, you can start reading the manga.
Mei Aihara is another main character of the show who is the younger stepsister of Yuzu and also the president of the student’s council. She is a very pretty light-skinned girl who has straight silky black hair and deep purple eyes. Unlike her step-sister, she tries to attract minimal attention from her dressing sense and is often seen in very simple clothes. She seems to have a very cold and ruthless personality, which is a consequence of her father abandoning her as a child.
