“AniMe Matrix” is ASUS’ name for the programmable LED matrix display on the rear of the lid of certain Zephyrus G14 models.
Method 1: Select [Device] (3), then select [ AniMe Matrix] (4) to get into the main page of AniMe Matrix Display application. 4-1-3. Method 2: Click the [Quick link of AniMe Matrix] (5) from the main page of Armoury Crate, which will take you to the main page of AniMe Matrix Display application. 4-2.
The default (upright) orientation considers the “pixels” of the AniMe Matrix to be diamond-shaped, with every second row staggered. In this orientation there are 55 rows and up to 33 pixels per row. (Or 66 columns with up to 28 pixels in each column, I’m not quite sure how best to represent the staggering.)
As far as I know, the anime matrix model is not available yet in the market as of this month May 2020. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this is not the AniMe Matrix model.
You can check the label on the giftbox. If it shows as [Eclipse Grey with AniMe Matrix] or [Moonlight White with Anime Matrix], it means the AniMe Matrix Display is supported on your laptop. AniMe Matrix™ Display application has been integrated into the Armoury Crate application.
4-1-1. Type and search [ARMOURY CRATE] in the Windows search bar(1), then click on [Open](2). 4-1-2. Method 1: Select [Device](3), then select [AniMe Matrix](4) to get into the main page of AniMe Matrix Display application.
No. This is not an Anime Matrix Model. The Anime Matrix Model according to articles that I've read so far is stuck with a 60hz refresh rate (double-check it), and a little heavier/ thicker than this model. As far as I know, the anime matrix model is not available yet in the market as of this month May 2020.

It's essentially an LED display on the laptop's lid and it's lit. For those of you who don't know the 'AniMe Matrix' display consists of 1,215 Mini-LEDs that support 256 levels of brightness each and can be used to show any kind of animated GIFs or images.
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 AniMe Matrix is a fun spin on an excellent gaming notebook, adding a customizable, dynamic LED grid to the laptop's lid. You've never seen anything like it, though the added cost dampens some of the “best value” mojo of the original G14.
Asus put the optional Anime Matrix display on the lid on the G14, but not on the G15, as well as added a reflective prismatic nanofilm layer under the array of dots on both, which shines in different colors based on the angle you're looking at it.

A: NO, this version doesn't haves the AniMe Matrix.
ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401QM-RTX30601 with AniMe Matrix™ Featuring up to an 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HS CPU and GeForce RTX™ 3060 GPU, this slim and stylish powerhouse rips through the most demanding apps and games.
The Zephyrus M16 features the AniMe Matrix LED and more. And all this without taking out the webcam. So yes, there's a small webcam at the top of the display, so you will still be able to do your virtual calls and video recordings.
Using an existing video can yield acceptable results, but much better results can be achieved by making content specifically for the AniMe Matrix panel. Because I love open-source software, I used some FOSS called Synfig to make content for the panel.
Inkscape does not take into account transparency when rendering the background (so it appears grey) but when the design is exported the background is fully transparent, hence it’s treated as black by Armoury Crate.
Since the G14 AniMe Matrix shares a chassis design with the original G14 apart from the lid lighting, I’ll point you to the full review of that model for design and feature specifics. But let's do a general rundown here.
One big difference here, and a factor in the higher price tag as much as the lid lighting, is the screen itself. The model we reviewed previously included a full HD display and a 120Hz refresh rate, but both are different here.
With the laptop fundamentals out of the way, we can move on to the pièce de résistance, the LED matrix lid. The lid is split diagonally, with perforations on one side and a plain finish on the other. The LEDs are set within the pinhole-size perforations, though you wouldn’t know it if no pattern or image is currently active.
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 AniMe Matrix is a fun twist on the original laptop, which we already rated very highly. The lid is something entirely unique, and while it’s 100 percent a curiosity feature, it’s a really cool one. The animations are amusing, and the battery and clock options are useful additions.
