Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is already finished, with its final chapter 205 released on May 18, 2020. Take note that chapter 205 is the one that fans call the extended finale, as the story of the final chapter is not about Tanjiro, but someone else related to him.
It is best to explain the end of the manga by telling what happened first when they defeated Muzan before transitioning to the extended finale. Knowing how overpowered Muzan is, everyone fighting him at that time was already on the verge of giving up. But gladly, Demons have one main weakness: sunlight.
Unlike other Shonen manga, the Demon Slayer left us with several deaths. But we are not going to cover the deaths of those who died before the final battle, as it will be a very long list to note down. But still, and because of Muzan’s monstrous power, the following (both of Tanjiro’s allies and opponents) got killed during the final battle:
Demon Slayer follows Tanjiro’s story to become one of the Demon Slayers who would help erase the Demons for good. The ending of the story also shows that total peace can only be attained by defeating the source of all demon power, Muzan. But that victory comes with the feeling that it is almost impossible to achieve.
The finale of the Manga simply shows that the Demon Slayers became so close to each other, that even their families became closely tied to each other. It also portrays how peaceful the world has become after the eradication of all Demons, making the people of the future generation live normal lives just like what we enjoy nowadays.
The penultimate chapter, which picks up three months after Muzan's defeat, shows Tanjiro, who has recovered from his near transformation into a demon. The injuries he sustained before his transformation have lasting effects now that he is again human, with his left arm and right eye permanently damaged.
Kanata and Sumihiko Kamado are the first to be introduced, and it's clear by their appearance that they are Kanao and Tanjiro, respectively. Kanata tries to get his brother out of bed for school, but the lazy Sumihiko continues to sleep.
