While in the anime Yusuke only accomplishes two good deeds, he does a lot more in the manga due to the timeline of events being more stretched out in the manga.

Overall, Yu Yu Hakusho is a very fun and enjoyable series. This anime is not something that everybody is going to like, but most people should at least find something about it that keeps them interested. Its not a DBZ clone, and its not just a mindless excuse for intense action scenes.

Talk (0) Yusuke Urameshi (浦飯 幽助) is the main protagonist of the manga, and anime series YuYu Hakusho. He is a Spirit Detective who is tasked with protecting the Human World from various supernatural threats over the course of the series and his closest friends as well as greatest allies include Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, Keiko, Genkai, ...
In the Korean dub, he is named "Jin-Jin" (진진). He is still called Yusuke in the manga translation and subbed anime. He is called Eugene in the Filipino dub of the anime.
Out of all the six mentioned, though, Younger Toguro notes that Yusuke is " the most protective " of Kuwabara, most likely because Yusuke knew him longer than Hiei and Kurama, and also because of the frailty of Kuwabara's human heritage. By extension, Yusuke can be mildly vengeful.
The pronunciation of his name is Yus (u)ke, with a second silent "u" since the syllable "s" in Japanese always comes with a vowel sound. Yusuke's first name means " ghost helper " and his last name is a word that is said by dead spirits. The Yu from Yusuke and Rei from Reigun make Yurei, another Japanese word for ghost.
In the manga after defeating Nekobaba, Yusuke references Virtua Fighter by assuming a pose resembling a win pose from that series. His appearance changes to resemble Virtua Fighter's blocky graphics as well. Yusuke has several songs on the soundtrack.
Yusuke's test score in episode 3 is 12%. (He's actually PROUD of this, because Kuwabara scored 9%.) Yusuke has a tendency to stick his middle finger at people a lot. Yusuke, alongside Yomi, made a cameo as high school students in the anime Good Luck Girl! on episode 7. Their 60 hour long fight was also mentioned.
The Yu from Yusuke and Rei from Reigun make Yurei, another Japanese word for ghost. Yusuke is a pretty good judge of character, being instantly unnerved by those with malicious intent and knowing if someone harbors no ill will. According to Hiei, Yusuke would struggle to match wits with a gnat.

Yusuke is one of the characters with a pop culture refrence legendary skin. When he awakens, His power up theme plays for some time, it can be found here. Yusuke is the only character, (as of now) to be in one roster and be changed into another.
To save the kid, Yusuke jumped into the road and pushed him out of the way, getting killed by the car in the process.
With his second chance at life, Yusuke was made into a Spirit Detective, a human with spiritual powers who stops demons and spirits who managed to get to the mortal world.
Spirit Gun Mega: Yusuke's strongest attack in base form, which uses all of his spirit energy for a single powerful blast. Spirit Shotgun: A spread version of the Spirit Gun, which fires a barrage of weaker blasts from his fist to hit multiple foes.
Spirit Kick: Like the Spirit Punch, Yusuke can enhance the strength of his kicks by concentrating spirit energy into them. Spirit Wave: Yusuke channels all of his spirit energy and releases it through either a physical attack or an energy blast, dealing incredible damage to whoever he hits.
The story all begins when Yusuke Urameshi, a crude, rambunctious, selfish, seemingly uncaring young man with an even less caring mother and a reputation for being a toughest fighter in town (and he is, too) did something so unexpected that no one, not even the Spirit World [Reikai] had been expecting it.
Yusuke finds out that he is part-demon, and that he is related to Raizen, one of the three rulers of Demon World. Raizen is a battle demon. In his full demon mode, Yusuke's hair turns white-white and very long, and he gets demon markings on his face and body.
Yusuke Urameshi is your average teenage boy living in a street fighter world... with knives. He is killed when he pushes a little boy out of the way of an oncoming car.
The other '90s icon, Goku seems to be what Yusuke Urameshi could have been if he fought out in space. As impressive as Yusuke Urameshi is, the strongest opponent he has ever fought was an S-class demon who is arguably planetary level.
However, when it comes to the power level, Sailor Moon far outclasses Yusuke due to her more cosmic abilities. By the end of the story, she is a borderline god capable of doing attacks that Yusuke would just have no chance against.
As impressive as a full cowl and Deku's more unique One for All abilities are, they aren't anything Yusuke Urameshi hasn't fought before . What's more, from a physical standpoint, he has done far more than Deku.
1 No Chance: Saitama. This is a no-brainer on this list. Saitama is the parody of shonen characters where he is incredibly overpowered by doing measly tasks such as 100 pushups. Without going even close to his full power, he is capable of destroying a planet destroyer.
What's interesting to note is that Naruto's mangaka was inspired by the works of Togashi so it would be interesting to see what Naruto is capable of against someone like Yusuke. However, while Naruto was at one point not as strong as Yusuke Urameshi, by the end of the series Naruto has come to a level that is just beyond anything Yusuke is capable ...
Furthermore, Saint Seiya has fought opponents that have borderline reality-warping abilities, some of which can defeat Yusuke Urameshi with nothing more than a mere thought.
Himura Kenshin is also known as the Battosai, one of the most feared ronin Samurai of the war. Despite him fighting against characters that far exceed a standard human's strength, he has never fought anyone as supernatural as Yusuke Urameshi.
Both had reckless and battle loving personalities, both had a lover who would stand up to them, both had friends who mourned their deaths, and both had a group of close fighting friends who badly wanted to surpass them.
Even in death, Raizen is always there to give the best advice that he can give Yusuke and guide his descendant to the right direction. It is hinted that Yusuke sees Raizen as the closest father-figure he never had, considering the fact his biological father was never there for him for most of his childhood.
It may also be a reference to his name (Raizen: Rai =Lightning / Zen=Meditation) Yusuke cut by Raizen. Energy Cutter: During his first meeting with Yusuke, Raizen demonstrated the ability to create a blade like beam of energy by flicking his fingers.
In Chapter 161 of the manga, Raizen is stated to have a Youki of 1,322,000 in his weakened state. Raizen's surname/title of Toushin (闘神), meaning "war god", is exclusive to the anime and is supposed to be a nickname representing his unmatched prowess in combat.
In the anime, prior to Yusuke's departure to Demon World, Raizen is called Toshin by Hokushin. As this can be translated to mean Battle God, it is likely a nickname rather than a surname. He is also called the Master of War or Warrior God depending on the translation.
In the middle of the final battle between Yusuke and former spirit detective Shinobu Sensui, Raizen takes control of Yusuke's body, causing his descendant to develop demon-like features greatly resembling those of Raizen. After taking over Yusuke's body completely, Raizen begins to do battle against Sensui, and with superior strength, Raizen easily and ruthlessly defeats Sensui. Just as Raizen fires a deadly shot of Yusuke's newly acquired demon gun at Sensui, Yusuke begins to regain control over his body, urging Sensui to move out of the way of the incoming bullet. Nonetheless, Yusuke's gesture proves futile, as the shot hits and kills Sensui.
Raizen (雷禅, Raizen) was part of a special type of elite and powerful demon called a Mazoku (loosely meaning the "Tribe of Devils", translated as Demonkin in FUNimation's subtitles of the original Japanese anime.). He was also one of The Three Kings of Makai and Yusuke Urameshi 's ancestral father. In the anime, prior to Yusuke's departure to Demon World, Raizen is called Toshin by Hokushin. As this can be translated to mean Battle God, it is likely a nickname rather than a surname. He is also called the Master of War or Warrior God depending on the translation.
