There are 12 episodes that aired from April 6, 1998 to June 23, 1998. Two clips from episode 3 of Nazca are used in the opening titles of the American sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. The opening song, Ai no Fugue, is widely inspired by the Fugue in G minor, BWV 578 from Johann Sebastian Bach.
Anime guy smiling in the rain: The character Shiogami from episode 3 of Nazca. Monster coming out of the ocean: The Kraken from Clash of the Titans. Woman being held above the nest of a pterodactyl: Another scene from One Million Years BC.
This is actually Shiogami, a character from Nazca, or Dimensional Movement Nazca as it was known in Japan. The character is a sadistic and cruel warrior, whose viciousness is typically directed toward the series protagonist, Miura Kyoji.
Scenes from One Million Years B.C. (1966) can be seen during the opening credits. In one of them, Raquel Welch is shown in the claws of a monster bird. The other scene shows the fight against a giant turtle. The theme song for the show, "Boss of Me", was written and performed by They Might Be Giants.
Fans already suggested that the clip was from a reality TV series from the '70s named 'Thrill Seekers' - however, the actual clip used in the show is different to the one used in 'Malcolm in the Middle'.
