JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is another high-octane dose of action-packed duels, surreal situations, and expert storytelling with one of the coolest JoJos yet.
Stone Ocean will obviously be reminiscent of the rest of the seasons of JoJo already on Netflix, but if you’ve enjoyed shonen surprises like Needless or Akame ga Kill! In the past, Stone Ocean should feel like coming home due to its fast-paced combat and plot that keeps you guessing from one moment to the next.
Through only 12 episodes, Stone Ocean manages to weave a satisfyingly strange mixture of emotion, inventive plots, and some of the most interesting Stands seen in the entirety of the JoJo anime continuity yet (perhaps for well, Diamond is Unbreakable).

An anime adaptation, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, premiered on Netflix in December 2021. Viz Media began to digitally release the manga in English through its Shonen Jump service in January 2022.
The creator of JJBA, Araki Hirohiko decided to cancel part six Stone Ocean and part seven Steel Ball Run from getting an anime adaptation. He believed part six to be boring and cringy. He wants to part eight Jojolion to adapted into an anime right away so he cancelled part six and seven's anime adaptation.
It's because of the licensing agreement by Jojo's Bizarre Adventure that doesn't allow Netflix to stream all the seasons worldwide.
Stone Ocean often gets the most vitriol from JoJo fans. Here's what makes it such a controversial entry in the beloved series.
JJBA: Stone Ocean has a great protagonist in Jolyne Cujoh, an outstanding supporting cast, and an amazing villain in Enrico Pucci. The story is arguably much better than the previous parts and it makes a person wonder, why is it hated so much by the JoJo community.
In every JoJo finale, the heroes have always managed to beat defeat the villains. In Part 1, Jonathan was able to defeat Dio Brando and the two "died" together on the ship. In Part 2, Joseph managed to defeat Kars, who was the perfect lifeform. Joseph only lost one of his hands in the process.
Despite not many fans failing to realize it, Stone Ocean's final arc is extremely important to the entire JoJo series. With the universe being reset and the world rid of Pucci, Araki got the license to experiment. Stone Ocean brought a close to the story of the Joestars, who were tormented by DIO and his minions.
Set in 2011, Jolyne Cujoh is sentenced to 15 years in prison after being involved in a car accident and being framed for a murder. She is imprisoned at Green Dolphin Street Prison in Florida, nicknamed the "Aquarium." Her father, Jotaro Kujo, gives her a pendant that causes a mysterious power to awaken inside of her.
Like all previous parts, Stone Ocean is produced and animated by David Production.
Emporio first appears when he warns Jolyne that meeting with her visitor in prison will put her life in danger. Emporio reappears throughout the series to aid Jolyne from the shadows and becomes a primary ally.
Johngalli A. is a fellow male inmate at the Green Dolphin Street Prison. He is one of DIO's followers and is directly responsible for getting Jolyne incarcerated. While Jolyne is imprisoned, Johngalli A. attacks her and Jotaro.
Jolyne meets Weather Report when she is transported to Emporio's ghost room inside the prison. Weather Report quickly becomes an ally of Jolyne and assists her on her mission to hand over her father's Stand disc to The Speedwagon Foundation.
Gwess is Jolyne's cellmate at Green Dolphin Street Prison. Gwess is a Stand user and makes a fast enemy of Jolyne. Jolyne learns Gwess is in possession of the pendant Jotaro gave her, and when she tries to get it back, Gwess attacks her.
Ermes Costello is a fellow inmate who is transferred to Green Dolphin State Prison along with Jolyne. She tells Jolyne to take cash into the prison so she will have the means to guard against harsh situations. In return, Jolyne ends up saving Ermes' life when she is brutally beaten by guards.
Whitesnake is Enrico Puccio's humanoid Stand that acts on his behalf. Whitesnake is introduced as a villain before Pucci is revealed and is used to execute attacks while Pucci stays out of sight. Whitesnake also appears to operate somewhat of his own volition.
In typical JoJo fashion, Foo Fighters starts out as an enemy to Jolyne and attacks her and other prisoners when they get too close to Pucci's discs. Rather than defeat Foo Fighters for good, Jolyne spares the Stand as she feels it doesn't have malicious intent and is just operating under an order to protect the discs.
