My Dress-Up Darling 's biggest hook for anime fans, aside from the season's best girl Kitagawa Marin, is its emphasis on cosplay.
My Dress-up Darling is originally known as Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru. It’s originally a manga published by Gangan (Square Enix) by Shinichi Fukuda, a female mangaka. And if you don’t want to wait for a season 2, you should definitely pick up the manga series.
The main difference, though, is that Gojo more or less assigned himself the deadline in My Dress-Up Darling, while most cosplayers found themselves in con crunch due to procrastination. With the cosplay made and Marin happy with the result, the next common experience of cosplayers is shown.

However, the series was always planned to be only 12 episodes, one cour, from the start, and was not canceled.
