Meanwhile, Miko's brother Kyousuke notices her strange behavior and comes to suspect that she's in an abusive relationship with a boyfriend. Wanting to protect Miko, Kyousuke secretly follows Miko around, but is unaware of the ghosts haunting her.
A flashback reveals that as a child, Zen was raised by an extremely overbearing mother. In the present, Miko secretly follows Zen to try and find evidence of wrongdoing so he can be removed from the school. She sees Zen encounter a kitten, and fearing he will harm it, intervenes to take it away from him.
The series follows an ordinary high-schooler named Miko Yotsuya, whose monotonous life takes a drastic turn when she mysteriously gains the ability to see ghosts and spirits. Although she is initially frightened by them, over time, she learns to lead a normal life ignoring the monstrous apparitions that are following her around.
Season 2 of Mieruko Chau will premiere in 2023. There is sufficient source material for a second season. The series looks to have been well-received. This series has a large following on social media.
It starts at the 24th chapter of the manga series. The Mieruko-chan anime adapted volumes 1 to 3 of the manga (Chapters 1 to 23). Yuki Ogawa (Tawawa on Monday 2) directed Mieruko-chan anime, which aired in the Fall 2021 season and had a total of 12 episodes.
