The episode ends just as soon as Levi shows up, but Attack on Titan fans cannot deny the hero is alive despite his injuries.
Levi's ending and its meaning In the final scenes of Attack on Titan, Levi is seen living in Marley. He's wheelchair-bound and escorted around a city by Falco and Gabi. Levi is implied to live out the rest of his life in a strange, foreign country, his friends either dead or an ocean away.
Even at the end of the manga, Levi is still alive, though he is no longer in any condition to fight as he is now in a wheelchair and lost a couple of his fingers, making it harder for him to hold a weapon. Rather than being a fighter, Levi now spends his time with Gabi, Falco, and Onyankopon.
Those worried for Levi and Hange can officially breathe easy: Attack on Titan revealed that both characters are still alive.
However, this backfires when Zeke deliberately induces an explosion propelling Levi off the cart and causing massive damage to both of them. READ: What happened to Levi Ackerman? – Chapter 125 Explained!
In order to cause chaos, Eren made the damning decision to turn all the refugee Eldians into pure Titans in a bid for power, and that led to the deaths of Connie and Jean.
While there are many characters that he respects, Erwin Smith is perhaps the only character that Captain Levi has truly loved, which puts Erwin at the very top of the list. Levi's loyalty and devotion to Erwin also indicate that the two were meant to be together.
Seeing that the Female Titan is now helpless, Mikasa disobeys Levi's orders and attempts to kill the person inside the Titan. However, the Female Titan swings her hardened fist at Mikasa, and Levi is forced to pull Mikasa out of the way. While doing this, Levi injures his left leg.
Spoiler alert. In chapter 114 of the manga, Levi is hitted by an explosion provocated by Zeke. Isayama wanted us to think that he might have died for it BUT in chapter 115, Hanji finds his body and runs away with it.
She likely told them he was dead to prevent them from shooting him to his actual death , then made her escape with her friend. Also, Isayama may be cruel to the world of Attack on Titan, but Levi is one of the most beloved characters, and likely wouldn’t be killed off right now, if at all. However this may be true.
Levi then attaches a thunder spear to him in case Zeke tries to escape, the thunder spear would blow Zeke. After a minor exchange of dialogues, Zeke blows himself up and Levi at point blank range. Zeke soon recovers thanks to founder Ymir. Hange and team arrives and spot a scarred Levi.
However, Hange eventually finds him, and escapes into the ravine with his body: After this encounter, you don't hear or see Hange and Levi for 10 chapters.
As soon as one of the Yeagerist says that he will shoot Levi through the head Hange states that Levi is dead, and that it must have been instant! When the Yeagerists are distracted by a nearby titan, Hange launches herself into the river to escape, taking Levi with her!
Zeke spots the opportunity to flee however Levi kills all of his Titanized teammates and captures Zeke. Levi then attaches a thunder spear to him in case Zeke tries to escape, the thunder spear would blow Zeke.
No, Levi Ackerman is not dead, but is SEVERELY injured. If you had a health bar, he’d probably be at 5–10.
However, similar to Gabi, they never ate Reiner, nor any of the other titan shifters. Instead, all of the new titans turned back into people as all of the titans, along with their powers, faded from existence.
All clues are currently pointing to Levi barely being alive. He came close to dying, but he’s not dead yet. However, what will happen from here remains to be seen.
Many viewers think Levi is still alive. In a Reddit thread that was designated for anime watchers only, @AdeQ217 wrote: “You guys think Levi’s alive? I think Hange wouldn’t risk getting shot if she didn’t know if he’s dead or not.”

Episode 16 saw Levi blown away by the explosion of the Thunder Spear lodged in Zeke’s torso. As stated by a shocked Commander Hange, exposure at such a close range would cause shredded internal organs and death on impact.
Levi does recover to fight again, though he remained fairly silent after the unplanned rendezvous with Pieck and Magath, only speaking to Hange about his vow to kill Zeke and to mutter about how noisy the group of Marleyan warriors and Eldian Scouts were when his sleep was disturbed.
While Levi had a brush with death and only caught the impact of the explosion, how did Zeke manage to survive after the actual source of it blew him into two pieces?! And what was up with the titan that put him inside its belly?
