So, I've gotten a few people into Konosuba, and we had some disagreement over what genre it is. One of my friends thought it was a Shonen show, and complained about how slowly the plot moved, while several friends call it a Harem show with a more direct main character.

KonoSuba 's characters, especially those in Kazuma's party, have garnered favorable reactions in the anime community. Creamer described the group as possessing a "strange but endearing chemistry," as the members are unfriendly with one another, yet are close.
Comedy, and a parody of isekai genre. Shonen is not a genre. Konosuba is a comedy. Just leave. Woah they have a VN???? You wouldn't dare... The subreddit for Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, also known as Konosuba!
JRPG fantasy worldKonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World is an anime that has a lot of fun mocking the tropes of the typical JRPG fantasy world via a colorful cast of characters that are enjoyable in their own right.
In the short story after volume 17, it was revealed that Megumin and Kazuma ended up together and went public with their relationship. Their relationship has progressed to the point where Kazuma gave up his dream of building a harem.

Harem is a genre focused on polygynous or polyandrous relationships where a protagonist is surrounded by three or more androphilic/gynephilic love interests or sexual partners. So, KonoSuba isn't a harem anime because only Megumin falls in love with Kazuma. KonoSuba is a comedy, isekai, and sword and sorcery anime.
Satou Kazuma They enjoy a close relationship, with Megumin being the most emotional one in the party, which was shown when Kazuma didn't want to return from the afterlife. She is also the most defensive in their party when Kazuma is badmouthed by strangers.
Their relationship seems platonic thus far, as neither of them sees the other as an object of affection. That being said, the two are inseparable and Aqua even relies on Kazuma more than she admits.
KONOSUBA was announced to be coming back after it ended in its season two last year with strong ratings. Now, there will definitely be a third season!

The KonoSuba light novels have been quite popular. As of March 2, 2016, the 11-volume series has a total of 1.5 million copies in print, each volume selling 136,000 copies. As of February 2019, the light novels had 6.5 million copies in print. In a review of the first novel, Andy Hanley praised the series' comedy reflected in the "tired genre" as well as its cast finding them appealing based on their traits. However, Hanley criticized the short length of the first volume. The series won BookWalker 's 2016 Grand Prix Award.
The second season's opening theme is "Tomorrow" by Machico, and the ending theme is "Ouchi ni Kaeritai" by Amamiya, Takahashi, and Kayano. Crunchyroll later added the second season. A second OVA was bundled with the twelfth volume of KonoSuba in July 2017.
In May 2021, KonoSuba was one of five isekai -oriented anime titles (along with Zombie Land Saga, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Princess Lover!, and Nekopara) that were given a limited ban by the Russian government for their depiction of reincarnation, which was thought to encourage suicide by lawmakers.
Originally serialized as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between December 2012 and October 2013, KonoSuba was published as a printed light novel series by Kadokawa Shoten under the company's Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint from October 2013 to May 2020.
A second season aired between January 12, 2017, and March 16, 2017.
This is where KonoSuba ’s genius comes to play. KonoSuba the light novel was first published in 2013, an era in which mountains were mountains and rivers were rivers. The isekai genre was flourishing with its seemingly unique premise, and everyone was buying into it. The isekai series of that era were mainly plot-driven, yet, KonoSuba, out of nowhere, dropped giving absolutely zero sh*ts. Plot? It was sacrificed for the sake of boosting the satirical elements. A linear storyline that augments the plot? Screw that, why have a linear storyline when you can have comedy gold. Everything about KonoSuba screams ahead of time, but, is it really an isekai era-defining masterpiece like everyone thinks it is?
For better or for worse, Kazuma is easily one of the most unique protagonists to be introduced to the isekai scene.
KonoSuba is unique in many aspects, but the worldbuilding is definitely not one of these aspects. Nothing separates the world of KonoSuba from the worlds of generic isekai series. KonoSuba introduces almost nothing new.
Unlike these series, the comedy in KonoSuba is absolutely top-notch—at least, by anime standards.
How lucky can the MC be? Like I know it’s this type of anime he is already lucky, but how lucky can he be? Can he have so much luck that he can be the father of 12 children?
Yuuto Suoh was a normal junior high school student until he was transported to the early period (2000-1300 BC).
Well, being a game programmer sounds good, but what if this puts you in a different world. I mean you are working, you took a nap, and woke up in a game world you were working on.
Here we are again with some game world stuff. Well, Akira Oono finally decided to shut down the server of a game he manages, but it didn’t happen. Instead, he went inside the game as the Demon Lord.
Ohh god another guy transported into a gaming world. We need a break don’t we? Still, let’s take a look at it.
Hmmm. Let’s see you’ve been summoned to an unfamiliar world to protect it from evil forces. What will you do?
Well well, this anime is pretty interesting. That’s because in this anime, you can go to a different world and if you survive there, you will come back to the real world with a special gift.
Takuma is a young man who's mysteriously summoned to a virtual world by two girls who try to make him their slave and utilize his talent in the game. However, he turns the tables and becomes their master, following he attempts to keep his stats high to blend into the game.
And rightly, so! Meet Yoshifumi Nitta, a Yakuza member who is hit in the head by a strange box. The box opens up to a young girl. Her name is Hina, which by the way is the only thing that she reveals.
Kazuma chooses the latter option and asks for Aqua's company in his mission. It's cheap thrills for Kazuma when he realizes Aqua is completely useless in the RPG world. The icing on the cake is that their adventures are far more dangerous than the visual game. Now that we have walked through the basic plot, what you should know right away is that KonoSuba parodies RPG-harem anime while progressing with the storyline.
Now that we have walked through the basic plot, what you should know right away is that KonoSuba parodies RPG-harem anime while progressing with the storyline. Kurusu fits the generic harem protagonist personality. He means well but gets into different antics with each girl and often says the wrong thing at the wrong time.
You probably expected this entry on the list, Issei Hyoudou, the self proclaimed Harem King, is a harem protagonist in the High School DxD series. Issei is a reincarnated devil of the Gremory family after he was revived by Rias when he was killed by his girlfriend on a bad date. Now as a devil, Issei has a harem with the other Gremory servants.
In certain anime, harem protagonists are surrounded by a group of potential lovers/friends, but only some characters earn the affection of viewers. Harem protagonists are known for being cutter characters of each other. On occasion we do get a protagonist in a series that breaks the mold.
He truly does not have a reeding quality about him. Mokoto has a crush on Kotonoha Katsura and turns to his childhood best friend Sekai Saionji for help. She agrees to help him get with Kotonoha but develops feelings for him in the process.
Shidou Itsuka from Date A Live is a student at Raizen High School. Shidou has the power to seal spirits by kissing them. A very good power if you're a harem protagonist. He works for Ratatoski save spirits that help prevent spacequakes, the resault of a spirit’s unharnessed power.
Tsukune is a human that attends Youkai Academy, a school for the supernatural. He ended up there after failing all of his entrance exams.
However, Kazuma has no interest in any of them. He’s a perverted schemer who’s only redeeming harem quality is that he has an ability called Steal. This lets him steal an object from a person of his choosing which he uses to steal panties from other girls in the series.
