Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is an American animated television series created by Radford Sechrist and developed by Bill Wolkoff, adapted from Rad's 2015 webcomic Kipo. The series is produced by American company DreamWorks Animation Television and animated by South Korean studio Mir.
The concept originally began as a webcomic, after all, so future Kipo stories could even be told in another medium. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts season 3 ends with an epilogue set five years in the future that sees humans and mutes both living on the surface in rebuilt cities.
anarchic designKipo is a parade of anarchic design. With its angular anime-tinged characters, painterly backgrounds, and psychedelic colors, the show — whose second season debuted on Netflix this month — looks like nothing else.
Kipo and She-Ra Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts aired on Netflix from January to October 2020. It became a shining example of expanded representation. In the first season of Kipo, which streamed on January 10, Benson said outright he was gay, saying he only liked the series protagonist, Kipo, in a platonic way.
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts follows the story of the titular Kipo, a young girl who has lived her whole life in an underground human settlement.
Starting with Kipo, the entire narrative centres around her “being and becoming in a body marked as youthful, Black, and female.” Though her skin may be purple, she is nonetheless explicitly bi-racial: her father is Black, and her mother is Korean.
Through her adventure she learns important life lessons and makes friends with the people of Amphibia. While there are currently no canon LGBTQ+ characters on this show, we still consider it LGBTQ+ friendly because it is inclusive in language and does not advertise harmful ideologies.
Rad Sechrist, the creator of Kipo, confirmed on Twitter that Asher is non-binary. Their voice actor Rhea Butcher is also non-binary. According to Chibu Okere, Asher was designed to be an identical twin of Dahlia, like "Phil and Lil from Rugrats or MJ and Janet Jackson."

So we all know Kipo has magenta skin and pink hair because she's part mega jaguar, but I wanted to know what she'd look like if she wasn't. Kipo is blasian, her mom is Asian and her dad is black, so I traced a scene from the show and recoloured it so that she has a blasian skintone- ugh I'm rambling.
Appearance. Kipo physically appears as a teenage human girl with pearly purple skin, thin black eyebrows, and pink lavender hair with a spiky fringe tied up in a ponytail with a dark-purple band, and dark fuchsia irises (her jaguar eyes glow fuchsia with night-vision).
2220Las Vistas in 2220. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts takes place in and under Las Vistas, a dystopian wasteland that is home to mutes and a few surface-level humans.
Wolf is the deuteragonist of the Netflix original, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. She is a tough-as-nails surface traveler who worked alone until she met Kipo.

Making her way through a world of mutant animals, a sheltered yet scrappy girl learns how to survive — and get home — with help from her ragtag crew.
In this romantic comedy set in the demanding world of fashion, passionate millennials juggle a tough balance between dreams, love and friendship.
When Kipo fearlessly snuck into Scarlamagne’s palace to save her father and other humans, everyone seemed to be hypnotized. All the humans acted as Scarlamagne wished and were dancing and behaving like puppets. Viewers saw that a pink gas kept them under control, which was developed from Scarlamagne’s pheromones.
He turned evil because he felt betrayed when there was an attack on their burrow and his parents saved Kipo instead of him.
Kipo And The Age Of Wonderbeasts: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Kipo. There is a lot to know (and love) about the charming and brave titular hero of the underrated animated series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. Kipo And The Age Of Wonderbeast was a superb new animated series with a fearless and fun female lead named Kipo.
Once she was separated from her father, Kipo fearlessly set out on the mission to save him and their people. Besides her positive energy, fans loved all the adventures, the show's creative and fun details, and the creatures she faced during her journey.
It was important for Kipo to see there were safe zones, and hope for all species living together. Benson and Kipo had a great time at the amusement park. On the Ferris wheel, she confessed her feelings about Benson and kissed him, to which Benson surprised and told her that he was gay.
The series was easy to love for all ages because it had a lot of positive moments. Kipo refused to assume the worst of everyone and she actually turned around almost every relationship that started bumpily.
9 Her Best Friend Was Wolf. After Kipo was forced to step on the surface and save her people, she came across a little girl wearing a wolf pelt. Kipo named her Wolf and while the two were complete opposites of each other, they bonded fairly quickly. Wolf grew up on the surface and learned she had to be alert at all times.
She and Mandu encounter Wolf, who initially attacks Mandu for a "bacon sandwich". Kipo fights to protect Mandu and helps him escape, all whilst convincing Wolf to talk to her and to help her. Wolf reluctantly agrees after quickly realizing that a "burrow" girl has little chance of surviving above ground.
After Lio pushed Kipo into the canal to save her from the mega mute, she arrives on the surface. There, she is forced to fend for herself. She meets Mandu and starts on her adventure to find her home again. She and Mandu encounter Wolf, who initially attacks Mandu for a "bacon sandwich".
Kipo tries to connect with Scarlemagne, formerly known as Hugo, to get him to see reason and let the humans go. She thinks she gets through to him, but he tricks her at his coronation. They fight, but Kipo starts to lose control of her abilities, putting her at risk of transforming into a mega jaguar permanently.
There is a lot of distrust in the mute community, and Emilia makes things worst by starting to kidnap mutes. After Emilia makes the cure, Kipo is set on destroying it and bringing Emilia to justice. The other humans believe everything Emilia says, which makes things difficult, so they help Emilia attack the mutes.
The gang finds Kipo's burrow, which has been destroyed. They continue their quest to find her people and to find the Mega Mute, who destroyed the burrow in the first place. The group encounters groups of snakes, cats, wolves as they go on their adventure.
There, the sisters advise her to go to her parents' old burrow, the one they escaped from right after Kipo was born. They also advise her to find an "anchor", something that will help her transform back into a human after she becomes a jaguar. With this information, Kipo sets out to go find the burrow.

Sometime by the 23rd century, animals have mutated into anthropomorphic creatures called "mutes". All three seasons of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts have a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with too few reviews for a consensus. At io9, Beth Elderkin described Kipo as a "must-watch", writing that it joined the likes of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Gravity Falls and Steven Universe as a series with a broad appeal to many age groups, and highlighting its music and art design. At Collider, Dave Trumbore noted Kipo's similarity to other recent female-led animated po…
