Overall: 10/10. Through an overwhelmingly well displayed storyline, art that strongly creates an atmosphere of medieval China, soundtracks that bring shudders to your spine and incredible enjoyment, Kingdom has earned itself a place in my top 10 anime.
Kingdom, with its second season, continues the greatness of the first season and delivers a satisfying, bloody good time. March 16, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Kingdom Season 2 is perfection. It's beautiful, it's bloody, and showcases how Korea continually increases the bar for zombie productions.
The anime has been licensed for English-language release by Crunchyroll. As of February 2022, the Kingdom manga had over 87 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
The series uses CGI, notably a combination of 3d objects with 2d illustrations (more so in the Second season then in the first). This has been common practice in the industry for a while (both to improve quality and save on labor).
There are plenty of anime series which take place in historical Japan, specifically during the Sengoku period, a time of intense civil war. Off the top of my head, Sengoku Basara, Brave 10, Dororo, Nobunaga Concerto… and the list goes on.
In the very last scene of season two, South Korean star Jun Ji-hyun also appeared in a mysterious new role, which all but confirms that Kingdom will indeed return for a third season.
The strength of the series' world-building and pacing has been perhaps the biggest reason for why it's so huge in Japan. Many have described it as sort of a cross between One Piece and Berserk!, with the historical setting adding an extra layer of gravitas to the drama.

Trivia: Did you guys know that Kingdom actually appeared in Shonen Jump once? That's right, 'Kingdom Bangaihen' was included in SJ's 24th issue of 2013 (released on May 13). With 34 pages in total, this extra edition was for promoting the manga and the second season of anime.
First & foremost read the manga cause the first two seasons of the kingdom aren't worth it considering they are such a bad adaptations only the recent season 3 can be considered a proper adaptation of the manga , also the series doesn't have romance but have subtle hints of one maybe developing in the future.
