Well, the Hypnosis Microphone multimedia franchise has announced that it is getting itself a TV anime! Its title will be Hypnonsis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima, and it will premiere in 2020. Unfortunately, the staff did not reveal any further details on this new anime yet.
Unlike most music anime series centering on younger characters, Hypnosis Mic ’s characters are mostly adults with complicated backstories and relationships, making the world and story of Hypnosis Mic engaging even to people who may not love rap.

The story of Hypnosis Mic takes place in a futuristic world with no assault weapons and women are in control, where everyone now fights using the power of rap through a specialized microphone that can control people’s thoughts. There are four main teams featured, and they are set to compete in the Division Rap Battle hosted by the government.

Upon first glance, Hypnosis Mic is a fun, eccentric and very “anime” take on the hip hop scene. But beneath the lit raps and hot anime boys, Hypnosis Mic hides an unusually dark and complex setting.
The success of Uta no Prince-Sama helped usher in an era of multimedia franchises targeted at women that aimed for similar mass appeal, of which Hypnosis Mic is one of the more successful examples that has bubbled to the surface thanks to music and a concept that helped it stand out.
But, there's only so much you can do in 13 episodes. With all this being said, I still really liked this anime. In my opinion, if you watch hypnosis mic with a critical lens, then you're watching it wrong. Not all anime has to have a complex and detailed plot to be worth your time.

The development of the true Hypnosis Mic is much more problematic, due to the unusual nature of the device. Also, according to Rei, the true Hypnosis Mic tends to destroy the user's Rap Ability.
The lyrics channeled through the Mic affects people's sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, making it possible to attack a person's psyche and alter their state of mind. A hypnosis mic is also capable of influencing a person's mind, by channeling lyrics through it, a user can make someone believe what the user is saying is true and cause visual and auditory hallucinations, even making it possible that a listener does not realise they are under the influence of a mic.
After the ban of the firearms, they handed the mics to the police and men outside Chuohku, so they could fight over the territory in rap battles. Several specially customized prototypes were also handed to the military before its disbandment.
After Hypnosis Microphones were introduced, all weapons were soon replaced with hypnosis microphones, including those used by terrorists, yakuza and punks.
